I need to buy a 3-ton floor jack and after doing some research, I settled on two jacks. I chose 3-ton because I might need it for my wife's 4,000 lb. SUV. Arcan seems to be highly recommended. Am I better with a aluminum and steel jack, or all aluminum? Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Arcan HJ-3000 3-Ton Professional Grade Aluminum and Steel Hybrid Service Jack. This one sells for $249 from one Amazon seller because I think it's been discontinued.

2. Arcan ALJ3T 3-Ton Aluminum Floor Jack - $219 Amazon Prime with free shipping. It seems to get high recommendations from various online reviewers.

You won't need a 3 ton jack for the lifting required, but I've had one of these for about 17 years. AC DK20Q Hydraulic Floor Jack - PelicanParts.com

Thanks Jon. I'll take a look at that one, even though I'm leaning towards Arcan.

I thought the Daytona brand that Harbor Freight carries is made by the same people that make the Snap-On jacks. Its why Snap-On sued Harbor Freight isnt it?

I had that silver Arcan aluminum jack for 15 years until my ex-wife "lost" it. It was the best jack I've ever used. I'm in the market for another so I can replace my control arm bushings next month and might buy it again. I'm subbing this for suggestions before I pull the trigger.

The 3-ton low profile long reach Daytona I got lifted my Raptor with zero problems. It’s a heavy ****er though.

Thanks for your suggestions/recommendations. I'm going to research them all and then order on Monday.

Buy a new Hein Werner jack. Made in USA and will last forever and fully servicable.
Wow, their 3-ton jack is $499. 2-ton is $407. More than I want to spend. It will mainly be used to swap out my G70 summer tires/wheels with winter all-season tires/wheels. And do a seasonal swap of my wife's SUV tires. I'd say my maximum budget is $200+-.

I can see that the Hein-Werner Jack is really well made.

I'm glad that you were happy with your Arcan aluminum jack. I like that it's lighter weight (I'm not a young guy, LOL), and it has good reviews.

There's a Harbor Freight store about 20 minutes away. I might drive over there on Monday to see their jacks.

After 20 plus years using steel jacks that were average at best I bought a 1.5 ton and 3 ton Pittsburgh rapid pump Aluminum racing jacks at Harbor Freight. They are lightweight and easy to handle. The 3 ton has a 6000 lb lift capacity and lifts most any vehicle easily. I used it on my 2014 GT500. Bought them back in 2013 and they still work great and look new. Excellent product.
