Those are the days I'd rather not remember. LOL. Yeah, Rev, the Terminator was definitely a necessity. Necessary to "terminate" the frustrating days of GM pushing Ford's shit in.

I wish I still had my 02' z/28- those cars ran hard for what they were- 13.4 stone stock with 900 miles on the it- 12.40 with a airbox lid, yank converter, and electric cut out after the cat on a bfg drag radial- 100 shot compucar dry kit bottle in a bag 11.3 @ 118 all while going in to torque management mode on the 2-3 shifts- which easily cost a tenth or 2. Dam divorce forced the sale of the extra vehicle- lol. car only had 5k miles on it. obviously the terminators are a nice platform when built up but back in the day I wacked quite a few. because even 16 plus years ago auto was greater than manual.

GM pushed fords shit in for decades, really as it pertains to the pony wars.

The terminator helped, but it can be argued that GM made more power with their flagship engine platform without the help of a blower (2003 z06).

Things truly changed with the Coyote in 2011. GM has been playing catch up ever since.

In the early 2000’s I had a turbo Mitsubishi Eclipse that went bottom 11s at 125+ that would crush terminators every weekend with ease.

Good times.

I had a WS6 Trans Am that was sold when my first daughter was on the way. I miss that car.

The problem was compression. Ls1 is 5.7 and 10:5:1? 4.6 2v is 9:0? Smaller engine and less compression, obvious.

My favorite generation Camaro is still the 2003-2009 models.

You mean this model?

Until recently, Ford never put much thought into GT performance. The 4.6 2V should have never been in a mustang to begin with. However, the explorers got the aluminum block 4.6 2V while the mustang got stuck an iron block.
I swapped an explorer motor in my old 99 GT and that weight off the nose made a huge difference in the car all the way around. That change and, a 3.55 factory gear would have put New Edge GT's in the low 13s from the factory.

I'm a bit fond of my old 2V GT. Sure, it's slow, but I enjoy it.

Underpowered and outgunned for sure. Then, start modding and that gap widens significantly in favor of the 4th gen LS car. Grew up running against those guys in my fox body and had fun until they started spraying the house down.
