It amazes me some of the jobs people have/had at such a young age, thats all. Unless operations manager is a fancy way to describe another position. That means you were 19-20 running operations for a company, which is impressive af, but also leads me to the question of HTF do you get a position like that at that age? Operation managers I know here make 60-80k a year, I couldn't imagine making that at 19 lol.
I made 60k at 19. Doesnt feel like much lol.

It was a unique situation. The owner of the company I ran, he never actually said I was this or that and I never really cared. But as time went on and I started looking elsewhere for employment, I had to title my position. Operations manager just had the nicest ring to it.

Anyway, it's not as prestigious as it sounds. The majority of that store's money came from state and federal level bids, which I was in charge of; buy low, sell high. I also handled the public foot traffic because again, it was a supply house open to the public (not just general contractors). I also took care of hiring temporary workers when needed, training them, keeping inventory stocked, etc. I literally did everything but balance the books, but even then I kinda did that indirectly by making sure we could and did turn a profit.

I started out making man hole covers in a foundry but quit to take a job in an ice plant. in between I worked in the oilfield and on the railroad. And for a side job I worked in a brake shop, body shop, and installed siding to supplement my automobile and motorcycle addiction.

When I was 24 I was in charge of the Electrical Lock out/tag out of an entire oil/gas site. I was honestly in over my head but nobody died so.. success

I’ll play for real. Heavy equipment at 16-18, then started driving a truck hauling petroleum products for 22 years and some other driving jobs. For the last 20 years I’ve been in sales selling luxuries in Florida. I’m also VP and head sales manager of a very large company here. I do OK...
