High horsepower (let's say 700+) guys; do you ever regret it?

Relo brackets, rear control arms and Nitto NT05Rs or Mickey ET Street S/S' and youll be solid if you leave the engine and pullies alone.

Thanks! I am definitely not messing with the engine too much. I might throw on a cold air later down the road but for right now, I'm going to just enjoy this thing as is and I will definitely be doing some suspension stuff to help put that power to the pavement.

What kind of a Beta ****ing thread is this? OP you disappoint.

913whp on 13.5 psi and hell no it’s not enough.

I do not regret it at all. The "With great power comes great responsibility" quote comes to mind. I've tamed down my street driving as i've gotten older.

My 2012 GT was built for drag racing/roll racing events combined with the occasional cars and coffee trip.

This, since when is fear of tickets a main reason for not wanting to make more than a certain power level? Lot of the times, the issue is a car isn't built as being a street car in mind, and it's just to chase a number, making it unusable 90% of the time.

I really enjoy driving mine. I don’t drive it hard much, but I do have MT SS on it so it doesn’t blow the tires off. A good tune can make it have great driveability

Wish I would of listen to a dealer manager when I bought in 07. His suggestions was to upgrade the complete suspension n. tires......
No added power until I could handle stock power
Then add want I wanted...
In 07 I pd $60k
He wanted $4k for complete suspension change over..

I now think I would have enjoyed n benefited with the change
But back then, I was afraid of a rough hard ride..

I dont miss how powered cars purely because I came to terms that there is no end to the satisfaction and within 5 years i'd have to be in a damn top fuel. Kind of realised that after the first time I drove a 120hp formula ford and got a full titties ride in a 918 spyder that same day. The straight line stuff was just no longer interesting to me.

My only regret is a little stiffer suspension. My next ride I'd like to be a couch that blows 6 foot flames.

This year I ordered a set of 4 Toyo r888r and putting the nitrous to 100. Should put me around 580-600tq. Now I have fantastic handling and still fast in a straight line.

It's a Vette though. That's what's it's intended for. If I had a mustang I'd run bigger power on a drag radial because that's what the car does best.

My Cobra was built to turn by my uncle. His only complaint with the stock blower was getting out of the turn quicker so he did a 2.3 whipple and pullied it for 15psi. Car makes 579rwhp. He was the fastest full interior street car at the track and only a couple vettes could out gun him. The dedicated stripped down track cars were the only thing faster.

I think some of you are misunderstanding what I'm saying as it's not a drivability issue. As cliche as it sounds, my car drives like stock until I ask it not to.

But whoever brought up the 600cc vs 1000cc bike comparison is spot on. My car is a daily driver with over 800 horsepower. Now granted it's not on a sticky tire at the moment and that could solve the majority of the skating around at triple digits, but I guess I'm talking more about the window of error that comes at upper horsepower levels. And remember, too, this is my first rodeo. And while it's true you can get nabbed speeding in anything, I don't have a lead foot issue as it's not like I'm getting nailed every so often going to work or running around town.

It's just a lot of car for the street is all, especially on a daily basis and being addicted to going fast. I have a dedicated daily, but I just can't do boring. Lol

Edit: On 93 at 625/650 it's about like my nitrous car was. Definitely more manageable and useful. It's on E where it gets crazy.

800hp is a lot. I can only imagine what it is like to DD 1000hp.

I never tracked my car, at least not yet. Mostly airport runs & back road racing on late night weekends. Only part I can't stand is I'm still running the 3.73 rear end & if I lead foot it on 1st or 2nd I will end up in the ditch. Other than that I look forward to being able to turn it up. Some day Ill make it to the track.
