GM A8 does have some issues. Lots of guys, especially with the CTS-V, get a shudder that leads to torque converter replacement and eventually trans replacement when it comes back. Google Z06 or Corvette A8 Shudder
Better than waiting for Porsche. 8 years between there top car....
True. Although I’d rather go with the c6z or 15 viper.Might as well wait for the new C8 then. It won’t weight more than 4,000# either.
Always better cars on the horizon.

The C6Z will go down as one of the baddest all-around cars to ever come out of the USA. Punches WAAAAY above it’s weight class.
I sort of feel that from the start, the C7 was always a compromised generation of Vette, as GM was coming out of bankruptcy during it’s planning and development years. R&D dollars were tight back then, and the Vette was nothing more than a tiny blip on GM’s radar during their survival mode years.
Still a good performer, just nothing like the performance jump the C5 & C6 gens provided, or what the C8 will likely deliver.
C7 is light years ahead of both the C5 and C6 it isn't even in the same ballpark when comparing the two. There is no way it was compromised as the Z06 was 650 S/C HP and had a targa roof and a convertible model where the C5 and 6 was fixed roof only. The C7 was started in 2006 (pre planning stage) for your information and GM wanted it to have an all aluminum frame from the get go, where only the C6 Z06 and ZR-1 had an Alum frame which was shipped into Bowling Green for assembly as BG had no way at the time to weld alum at the factory. And another thing you are wrong on was the blip part as the US Government at the time of the buyout said that only the full size SUV and truck line was profitable and the Vette was the only ones making money all the rest was losing money for GM at the time.
Do it, it feels good to be king.
How will the new C8 Z07 look like though??Might as well wait for the new C8 then. It won’t weight more than 4,000# either.

I'n going to "assume" that the new C8 Z06 will be faster around the track now because of weight loss and the mid engine placement. Should be interesting. It usually goes something like this.
People that want to like, will. Those that don’t, won’t.
One things for sure, the Mid engine setup will open up a whole new world of performance for the nameplate. Most would probably agree that they’ve taken the front engine platform about as far as it can go.

I'll agree with that. That’s probably a safe assumption. Even if weight remains the same.
I thought the C8 was coming for the 2020MY? I'm not positive.gonna be a loong time before the c8z comes out. The C8 isnt even out yet, that thing will get marked up and bought at high prices by all the baby boomers with gold chains.

remember, the next generation vettes will always cost $ because its new and ppl gotta have it. The cars will be cheaper than porsche 911's and GM will make too many. Meaning the value will plummet which is a win for people waiting to buy low. Check C7Z prices, insane you can get a $100k 3LZ z06 from 2015/2016 for under 60k.
