Op I’d seriously look at getting something with some shine. The black may look good on a vibrant color but silver/satin/dsg/mg look better with a shinier wheel. Or at least a polished lip. It’ll change the car.

Your car just looks terribly plain with that black wheel. My MG car came with black saleens. New car with classics on it. At a minimum I’d get a gloss black wheel if that’s what you want.

I’m leaning towards gloss black wheels if I do the cf5’s or possibly a metal/aluminum similar to the stock wheels if I do the f14’s.

^thats a great find for that price. 25lbs is still lighter than stock too. I think stock chrome plated 17x9’s are 30lbs...

I’m already talking with my buddy about some custom sized forgestars

~18x9.5 front and 18x11 rears. I need to pull the wheels and get some measurements from my hubs to the fenders to figure out an offset f/r.

Will you really be saving money doing custom forge stars?

Get with intervention302 on here and he can help you on CCW.

Not sure how you can worry about $800 total increase for the whole wheel set with all you’ve got into your car.

Given they aren’t trashed you’ll still sell the CCWs for 600 a piece used and they’re about 750 new.

I drive mountain roads in the summer a lot but we have horrible potholes and grooves. My tsw’s have a fair amount of rash already...

I don’t want to abuse a beautiful set of ccw’s. Just our city streets have stuff that’s 3” deep. I hit one a week ago and bottomed our my resonator half flat... they’re hard to see at night and deadly.

I’d get awesome wheels if I didn’t live up here. Goes from 110 to -10 every year and the roads are garbage

A special order forgestar set is about $100-250 more from what my buddy is saying, and he’s a vendor so I can get a homie hookup too.

Ccw’s are excellent wheels. I’ll probably buy some for a different project in the future, this car sees too many neglected roads.

These two are my favorite CCW’s

classics^

Both are heavy fap material... thing is if I curb one bad, repair jobs aren’t very strong and replacement is pricey.

What would a great set of ccw 505a’s in metallic black run in a well sized/back spaced 18x9/18x11? I’d want to get the exact stance this guy has

Anybody want to pull in an excellent seller/vendor to help get me a quote?

I saw a post listing @Intervention302 so I’ll throw a shout out here

How are these cars not destroying the fender and rear quarter panels? There is no travel at all. They have to be bagged.

They look soooooo good though.

Not the best pictures because it's still winter here but these welds look great and are a little cheaper than a set of ccws.View attachment 1558196View attachment 1558197

They do, that’s the wheel I want to do for 16x28x12.50’s

I didn’t know they made them in full size sizes, very cool

Do you know the wheel weight in 18x9/11?

Beautiful.

...and again, how are you not destroying tires and body panels? The ride has to be equal to cruising on a go-cart.

I believe rolling fenders gets the magic done. I need to have mine rolled because my tears are ate up

This is a 315/35/18 which is 1” taller than stock. It rubs like a mother****er on bad bounces. And clearly, this car isn’t set up stance nation or low.

That wheel well is making lunch out of those Toyos.

They are shredded...

I’ve rolled into boost/wot in 2nd-3rd gear on the freeway, hit expansion gaps, and basically jounced the rear tires into the fenders at 70-100+mph... very unnerving sound. I’m due for a tire blow.

Cruising around at 20-40mph, hitting a slight dip or imperfection makes a scraping sound that is less intense but still cringe worthy.

I haven't driven on these yet.

However, fenders will need to be rolled for sure. A few others have ran this tire with success. So im hoping for the best

I don't remember the right but I'd estimate around 20lbs. They are noticeably lighter when I pick them up and move them around compared to the set I had before

Get to rolling! 28x10x16 hoosier slick on mine with more rear clearance was rubbing not rolled. I just have cheap o steel diamond racing 16x10 rims for the track. I would probably raise your rear a bit if you have coilovers.

You will find it rubs at the rear of the fender in about a 4-6" section. I just rolled my fenders last weekend and you could see the bare metal portion where its rubbed in the past.

I have some viking coil.overs that's will be going on before those wheel are put back on.

So I'll be able to raise it accordingly.

Those pictures were a "test fit" to see of I wanted to keep them or not.

But yeah, fender rolling and coil overs are in the works now. It's been too cold in the garage to mess around out there lately lol
