So my younger brother calls me up today. Really excited and adrenalined up. He's so excited he can hardly speak. I can tell he's in the car so I ask what the **** his problem is.

"Just had my first really good race with the new truck", he replies.

Background: He picked up a new blue F-150 SCrew a month or so back. Drove it for a week and came by to show it to me. What do you think, he asks? Really slow...you're a ***, I reply. I suggest he take his dead stock truck back and get the dealer to install the Roush supercharger 670 HP kit. Truck still looks completely stock, of course.

He's driving down the road and some dude with a really nice truck, lifted, wheels, flares, loud exhaust and the usual is revving and gunning off every light for a few miles in front of him. Finally, they get to the red light where the street turns into a three lane freeway. He and the dude side by side. The dude looks over and revs like crazy. Loves his truck and loves the noise. My bro loves the guy's truck, too. Really nice, apparently.

My brother nods and they wait for green. Bro gives him full first jump and it's on. He catches up the couple of truck lengths quickly and then just blows away from the dude. The guy catches up and rolls down the window.

"What the **** is that thing?"

Supercharged, replies my brother. The guy can't get over himself thumbs upping and being happy as hell to get beat.

My brother is definitely HOOKED! Never heard him so excited. And this is just supposed to be his hunting, lake/ranch and shitty road winter vehicle. LOL He hinted when he got the truck supercharged that he might not even bother with his daily anymore. (Macan Turbo, which he wouldn't buy until he had checked that it could hold 120 Canada geese decoys.) He likes the F-150 that much.

Now I'm kinda wanting one.....

Lol, he should of told the dude it was stock!

Lol. I'll pass that on to him for next time. He was for sure too excited to think straight this time anyway. He'll need to be better prepared for questions when it happens with mustangs and the like in the summer.

I think we pay more here in Canada but it was about C$12000 or US$8750. Warranty for 3 years, 60km (36k miles).

Warranty is not factory, it's Roush now for driveline parts. They pay up to a certain amount if it is installed by a Ford dealer or someone they approve. Warranty void if altered from their tune, as you would expect.

It's very similar to the Ford Racing kit (Whipple) that I put into my '14 GT. Same parts, mostly. Pretty conservative, as usual from Ford or Roush. So, not a lot of risk. I installed myself and it was really easy. Especially with lots of available video to refer to if needed.

If you are considering it I can definitely say it's lots of fun. A good option if you are willing to sacrifice all out power in favor of driveability and safety for the engine. Other blower or turbo kits might make more power but having the Ford/Roush jointly developed kit is comforting.

Yeah. It was great to hear how up he was for it. I'll try to get pics next time I see him. Engine looks good but outside is soooo stock. He's going to fix that, though.

StreetSpeed717 did a video on a supercharged f150. It may have been a roush? But that thing was hauling some serious ass and would to crazy rolling burnouts.

That thing is quick as heck.
It says it's a Roush, but it is Whippled powered. Had a blue powder coated Whipple supercharger sitting on top.

lifted truck trying to race

good kill

My truck's a TURD now that I lifted it. Hardly gets out of its own way. Gears on the way, and then tune if I want more. Yayyy for factory turbskis.

You sound like a power-hungry, pussy-loving, right winging, gun-toting Patriot.

Ha ha, someone's in a good mood! I remember a previous occasion when you called me a sea bass for talking out of both sides of my flippers (or something along those lines).

Thanks for the compliment.

When I was stationed in California we use to go to Qual Com Stadium where they allowed drag racing. The trucks would destroy the cars for the most part....those diesels are beasts!
