Have you looked at the diesel Titan?
I heard most dealers are willing to deal. Buddy of mine just picked one up for around $42k with Nissan's lifetime powertrain warranty.

Might be worth looking at.

The Nissan May be nice but I would never own one. Being a mechanic their cars are junk imo. Resale isn’t that good either ,compared to Toyota.

We need a sub-forum for all the SVTP financial experts to tell us how to spend our money.

People are as bad as Democrats, SMDH.

Well the OP told us the numbers, asked for advice & people tried to help. Hardly something worth complaining about...

I asked what people thought . But people love to spend other money and say just take a bath on the car. Well I don’t want to loose 5k just like that. I have listed my mustang for sale private party .we will see where that goes? I got a really good offer of 27k cash but I would still be out 4K
Not saying the car is worth more or not because reality is it’s just a gt. The only thing on my side is it’s rare royal crimson color. So I feel just like anything if you want it your gonna pay. If I could get 30k private party I will happily pay the 1k to get out of it. If I can’t I can’t justify loosing that much . If I wanted to simply loose 5k or basically light it on fire I would. For the 5 k that will pay the payments for a year and all I have to do is simply enjoy the car. The whole point of this thread was realizing a truck would better suit my current family situation. Realizing I should of held out on a car like this till maybe another 6 years when my oldest starts driving herself around. Either way it will work out. Maybe a year or two from now , we will see.
Thanks to all for advice . Rather it was helpful or not I still read everyone’s comments.

Pretty sure the only reason he mentioned financials is to provide context around the situation. I didn't see him ask anything close to, "should I invest my money instead of making car payments?"

Nevertheless, we got a 6 page discussion on how he should sell it all and put his money into a 401K, or otherwise invest it, and people coming out of the woodwork to tell us how special they are because they own a full paid off house.

Most of us here are likely well aware of the trade-offs. But some people can't deal with the fact that everyone is different, and will make different choices.

I had a beautiful home I was forced to foreclose on back in 2012 . I would easily have 200k in equality by now because I bought it really cheap. But life is what it is. My kids mom was a skank and found out she was cheating on me . I filed for divorce in 2012 and I got a adaboy from the courts to a tune of $2469 a month. (Child support and alimony). So life takes you in different directions sometimes. I had a plan , I had savings. But she completely wiped me out and I had to start over . Thankful that the $800 alimony is over as of last year. Still pay support for my 2 kids even with 50/50 custody. It’s just the way it is but my family aches for nothing. I hoping my new wife and I can buy a house within the next 2 to 3 years . She should make about 30 to 35 bucks a hour to start. That will really help us rise up a bit.

Through everything I never gave up and I never gave up on my kids, and never will.

Send it, blow the motor, let it roll down a boat ramp, let the cards be what they may.

I came up with thousands to get rid of my Camaro ..

Best decision ever. Sure it could have paid for payments over a year.. but I’d loathe making the payment so I took the pain all at once

A brief stroll through this thread, very brief. One thing stands out.
I've only been married once, but my view is from seeing SO many friends/co-workers getting ****ed over, voluntarily, for the second or third time.
If one marriage goes bad & destroys a guy, why would they do it again? And yet again? WTF.

At that time I was make a lot less. More like 60k a year . So with the almost 2500 a month , gas, food , car payment ect. California does a good one on decent dads. With all I’ve been through I see why most get a bad name . I wanted to give up at one point. That’s not how I was raised and regardless of how the money was spent(not on my kids) I still paid what was ordered. Still took care of them when I had them as well. I got remarried but if for some reason it didn’t work out I would never marry again. Marriage , kids is more like a business if things go south. Likely if your the guy , your gonna pay.

Probably lives in a no-fault state, like I do. Same thing happened to me, though I didn't wind up in foreclosure.
