I’m wondering what everyone is running for racing seats? I don’t just want any ole stylish racing seat. I want something that’ll be a very big improvement over the factory seats in our cars when it comes to weight and keeping you firm in the seat.

I would like it to be somewhat comfortable. I don’t care of reclining either... those mechanisms usually add weight to the seat, but it’s not a hard requirement. But possibly I may from time to time need to reach the back seat area for stuff.

I’m thinking something that weighs less than 15-20lbs would be perfect, but also comfortable.

I was thinking about these:
Corbeau Mustang FX1 Pro Racing Seat - Black 29501P (79-19 All)

Okay so I have had corbeaus A4’s for some time now (2+years).
Cons:
•fade extremely quick (hope you like pinkish black lol)
•may be my set but the rails absolutely suck; I’ve had to metal work them multiple times.
•loops for the harness pop out all the time.
• not fun in a wreck
• squeaky (not sure if just mine but I have to oil them every 6 months)

Pros:
• each seat is 23lbs for cloth (my stock seats were 180 for the pair)
• they hold you a lot better than stock do
• gives a new look to the interior

I’d stay steer clear of corbeau personally, I’ve heard good things about Braum I just don’t like their seat shapes.

CR-1 micro suede here, they're ok. Mine are fine except the black does fade to purple (like cheap tint)

Recaro seats, sportster CS. Most comfortable racing seats I have owned to date.
And look really good with a DSG car.

Weight: 33 lbs / 15 kg
Max Height: 36.2 inches / 918 mm
Max Seat Cushion Depth: 19 inches / 483 mm
Max Seat Cushion Width: 21.3 inches / 539 mm

I can't find what the slider mount weights. but sounds like it's heavy.
Backs fold. if you look at the 2nd pic you can see the where the 6point swing out bar would go. See that white symbol thats the fold out lever.
seat cost $1400 and change each and the sliders were 75$ each.

Are my eyes fooling me or are they really 3k a set...

Nope that's what they cost. I've owned 800$ sparco seats(evo 2-xl's) and these recaros are more comfortable by far.

It looks like if you want to shave weight Troy. Your going to need a fixed back racing seat. On Recaro's website all the fixed backs are half the weight. Unless you go with the high dollar carbon backs

I had a pair of Sparco Evo 2 Plus seats in a previous car. Very light and decently comfortable for being fixed backs, definitely hold you in place. Of the top off my head, I want to say they were around 15lbs each. Spent 7 hours one way in them driving to and from the beach multiple times, that was about the limit for me. I would buy them again.

15lbs per seat + a rear seat delete sounds great to me!

Sick! Those look the weight 5lbs haha! How much do they weigh? And what’s your thoughts on driving long distances with those seats?

I picked up .3 tenths in the 1/4 doing the seats, rear seat delete, and a 6lb lightweight battery. 11.7 to 11.4. It dropped roughly 140lbs from my car.

That’s impressive! What from seats did you go with? & was that with one front or two front seats?

While I can't stand the weight of the factory seats (driver's 60lbs/passenger 40lbs) I find them to be among the most comfortable seat I've ever been in. The look great and you can move around in them somewhat on a long drive. Racing seats tend to "lock" you in position and are a little more awkward to get in and out of which can get old after a while if you doing something other than racing.

If only the factory seats weighed 30 lbs ea *sigh*

They probably weigh around 10lbs with the brackets. As far as driving they aren't bad I like them but I wouldn't want to do a road trip in them.
