Sounds like you need the Lincoln Aviator. 450hp/600tq.

Edit: The 3.0 is a very strong engine and with a tune, it's laying down better numbers than a 3.5. I have no doubt the Explorer ST will hit 12's tune only. While that would be nice if it did it stock, that's at most a $600 mod that everyone should do.
I thought I've seen crew cab 4x4 f-150's hitting 12's tune only. I actually think this thing will be pretty impressive once livernois gets to work on them

Looks good exterior wise.

Hopefully there's a nice bump in power so I can bring the wife back over to a Ford.

I love the Aviator and what they are doing with the Hybrid assist is cool. It's a luxury car that happens to have a ton of power and torque so Im cool with that, but Im not impressed with the ST if it is supposed to be their attempt a fast Explorer.
As long as it out performs the previous Explorer Sport, stock for stock, I'll say they did their job. Knowing how well the 3.0TT and 3.5TT's respond to a tune, there's a little left on the table to make it a fun ride. I wish Ford would have made wheels unique to the ST trim instead of just blacking out the regular 21's, but that's why we have aftermarket options.

Tuners believe this is more capable than the 3.5 Ecoboost. In order of potential: 3.0, 3.5,2.7

Where are you pulling this information from? lol. The 3.0 just came out and was supposed to be Lincoln only, now the explorer will have it. The 3.5 has been out since 11 and actually has a ever increasing aftermarket.

Any info on what turbos they are using? Most of these EB turbos max out easily with a tune and are sharp torque curves that fall off quick.

This is true but there are turbo upgrade options. This only matters for f150, the transaxle fwd would not keep a transmission and other parts together. That being said I just read the 19 raptor/HO option in Limited has bigger compressor than even the current after market upgrade options and these trucks come with dual 3 inch exhaust. The power keeps going up.

im just a middle class nobody, but doesn't it just seem too easy to throw a Coyote and 10sp in this thing and have a legit SRT fighter? 465/420 with AWD and the 10sp would be mid 4 to 60 and most likely in a 4700lbs explorer run mirror to mirror with the 392 trucks.

im an EB fan too, owned a SHO for 3 years and loved it. I'm dying to come home to a Ford again but FORD you gotta borrow some of this SRT swagger.

who knows with 400/415 @ 4700lbs vs the CG and Durango @ 5300lbs and 5800lbs the power to weight is very similar. it might be a better race then i think.

Don't really look at the performance specs on a shopping cart, just want it to get the groceries out to the car. That said, I think Ford is going too hard on Ecoboost and not enough on displacement. Maybe a Coyote EB.

I like the Explorer ST trim specs over the Edge ST trim specs, but I prefer the size of the Edge. I will have to look at both before deciding when it comes closer to replacing my Edge Sport in the Fall. When you're looking at a $55K+ vehicle, you want to be sure you're getting the best bang all-around for your buck.

I think I’d quoted the guy from Unleashed Tuning. I recently bought a Fusion Sport and there are two primary tuners - Livernois and Unleashed.

My biggest complaint on the Explorers is legroom. I did they increase it with the redesign? That’s the biggest reason we got the Edge, legroom in front with car seats in the back.

I'd much rather them have a V8 as well.

However, I think the 10 speed will help out quite a bit in the Explorer.

I figure if my Ecoboost Expedition will do 13.8 in the 1/4 with a very mild tune, these will SUVs will fly.

I see no reason as why this vehicle wouldn't be a low 13 second SUV from the factory.

Not great news there from what I've been hearing.
Darn! As "not great" as the new Chevy Blazer? That's a disappointment, too. Edgy exterior that is decent looking, but IMO it should have been tagged with another model name. I expected something more muscular all around when I learned a new Blazer was in the works.

No, nothing like that.
