What does everyone think about the recent prices of fox mustang's especially coupes? I certainly didn't see this coming for Fox's but ones at Barrett Jackson have been going for stupid prices granted their like new low mile examples but even ones not that prestene are going for more then I thought.

Good for me because I own one. Not a coupe but a 3 owner 92 GT with 87K miles even though it’s not super low miles I know the history of it well.

Well it’s about their time. They ignited the EFI horsepower era and still dominate on the track.
Everyone says they made a lot, and they did, but damn near impossible to find a truly stock one, especially a 5-speed notchback.
I’m 38 and grew up with Foxbody Mustangs, my first an ‘86GT in ‘97.
Guys my age want to have one again and I’m not surprised to see values going way up.
I still have my ‘91 LX that’s now a drag piece, but 3 yrs ago I found a cherry Teal Cobra and it’s nice to know it’s prolly worth more than I paid.
If you want one or know one a clean low mile car is, news the time!

Yeah I was looking for awhile before I just bought one recently and you can still find gt's and verts all day but a coupe not so much. Look at the ones that get posted for sale here they go pretty quick. I just saw a 7up vert go for 75 thousand.

Just found my sister a pretty clean 93 triple white feature car for $6500. It's bonestock, other than weld on mufflers.
There's deals to be had but they are few and far between.

I just picked up a pretty clean 4 eyed notchback roller to swap my engine and trans in after I found frame rot in my 85 gt.
The notch was $800 and only a 4 cylinder and automatic but the price wasn’t bad, for our area, and I plan on changing to a stick shift and tilt column.

The guys like myself who had these when we were teenagers are now in our upper 30s and some of us have disposable income and are willing to pay the $ to relive those years. I owned 3 really nice ones back in the day and for what i paid for all 3 added together wouldn't buy a clean one today.

My goal is a coyote swapped 93 Cobra!

But this scarcity is mainly for cobra's and coupe's. Before I bought my coupe i was looking at a teal cobra locally but it needed to much work. Paint, interior and a transmission and the guy still wanted 15 grand.

It has a lot to do with where you live and what you plan to do. I see foxes all day long here in the south east. I have a coupe, they are slighter harder to find but they are still out there. Hell in the last 3 weeks I’ve seen a lot of sub 6K ones that looked pretty clean in the pics. I wouldn’t put to much Stock into the mileage so much as the upkeep someone has done to the car.

As with anything with the potential to be "collectible" the term "dime a dozen" usually means at some point in the future they will become scarce when people consume them thinking there's an endless supply. I grew up in the 90'sand early 00's hearing that Fox bodies were a dime a dozen, and they were right. $3-4K would get you a clean car with average to lower miles. There were so many for sale and you could see 3-4 of them a day on the road...even here in the northeast. Drive em, rust em out, hack em out, crash them...who cares just go buy another.

Now, i'm lucky if I see 1 or 2 a summer up in these parts on the road. Clean cars that have intact towers go for stupid money. The coupes were all cut up and raced hard since they were the cars to get back in the day and the cheapest to buy new and now they are hard to fine in clean condition. $3-4K now gets you an unknown mileage, 7-8 owner, poorly modified driver.

I've seen the GT models fall off in terms of desirability, as well as convertibles and automatics. It seems if you want to get into a fox and not pa a crazy price, a convertible automatic GT is the way to go.

I can understand the craze though. I was 17 with a fox body and was jealous of the guys dumping money into their cars with full suspensions from maximum motorsports, or nice engine builds and big brakes. I was stuck driving my near-stock fox with flowmasters and underdrive pullies. Now, as I near my 40's I have the money to do what I couldn't do then. Fortunately for me...I still have the actual fox I drove when I was 17.

I got into my coupe 12 years ago for $7500 CAD. It now has 111,380km. Bought it with 107,000 km and I am the third owner. It has come a ways since I bought it, now it is mini tubbed and currently receiving a terminator swap. Don't think I'll ever sell Arnie either.

Pics or ban! My car was used for the mini tub install pics for Team Z Motorsports. A huge upgrade to comsfortably fit real tires.

Here's how it looked up until about a month ago when I started tearing it apart. Still stock interior other than the back seat area. Also has a fuel cell and relocated battery box.

This setup was decently quick even N/A, typically bottom 10.10ish N/A and almost a second quicker on spray. But.....nitrous and c12 is grossly expensive in Canada and with 2 small boys now my track time is very limited. Which is the reasons I'm going the terminator swap route. Looking forward to driving the car more.

Mixed feelings.
I have a rare one but the prices stopped me from doing what I have always done.

Have a 2,200 mile 41X Coupe. At best it will get driven to highet end car shows. It will never be a driver for fun. I have a Turbo GT and a Turbo t top Gt350. Plus a Terminator swapped Mystic.

I recently realized this and sold off all my old cars. That i love the late models and chased the muscle cars for all the wrong reasons. Have a 66 restomod that still has to go. Realized just in time to be too late and the prices have gone out of this world.

My coupe was in the March issue of Mustang monthly and has been a Jerry Heasly feature car in the past. In case you've seen it
