ProMaxx I believe. These are aluminum. Deck it nice and thick.

That’s awesome!

Solid Cnc’d aluminum I’m assuming.

The deck thickness should all but eliminate sealing and warping issues.

Going to be some very angry 6.0 floating around soon

Be nice to have someone with input on the promaxx heads. My understanding taking with diesel guys is there a great head for "race applications". Not so much for a DD tho. All the expansion and contractions with cold and hot weathers. Some said would have hard starts in winter months, if it would even would start at all. But who knows, haven't run into anyone running them on a DD for clarification yet.

So I went with a local machine shop here that has new updated castings and also o-ringed / fire wire the heads. Was $2000 w/tax for a new pair of heads. lol no way am i taking this engine back apart with the cab on ever again.

I don't see how the heads would cause hard starting in the winter. That would seem to have more to do with reducing the compression ratio on performance applications.

That still should cause no hard starting issues.

I'd be more concerned about the quality of guides and seats used in theur construction. I think they are working on a 6.4 set too.

Yeah, idk. was to many ifs for me to buy. Also a newer product. You know there's going to be issues.

Few guys have bought fully assembled ones and said exactly what you stated. Quality wasn't there. Seats needed to be re-cut, valves needed reground, and something was said about the castings are from China. Guess they have 4 different Foundries no of which are U.S supplied material. Some foundries cast better than others. ect...

Guess if you order bare casting and have a rep machine shop do the work there really hasn't been any issues that I've heard of yet. Anything else, it's a gamble.

It's tough getting stuff like that cast in the US, especially at a reasonable price.

Biggest thing when buying any fully assembled new item for these ole bitches is use reputable supplier. Must have warranty or no go period imo.

Asheville engines, warren diesel , devil diesel, all good places to start.

Although I’d be just way to tempted to go stroker motor if.....when I start to have issues with the ole girl

I've been almost 100K miles since I had the body off. 35 PSI on the hot tune with no problemo.

Ohm tested the injectors on the driver side. Found a bad coil in #6, the one that was throwing the code. Got 4 motorcraft injectors and swapped em out. Took about 7 hours watching YouTube to make sure I didn't miss anything while I was in there. Running good again.

257k miles out of em, guess I got my money's worth.

That's a lot of life out of those injectors. What oil did you use?
