Motorcraft 5w-50

I was able to pick up (the last apparently) case of MC 5w-50 off ebay for $101 shipped (12 quarts)

The vendor is CarID and went on their website, but a case seems like $113 on their site and don't know if there'd be shipping after.

I'd be careful to point out that it would depend on the number of miles and/or how the car is driven, i.e. regularly tracked vs. a summer weekend cruiser. Oil analysis is always a good way to prove one way or the other. And make VERY sure that it meets the manufacturer's spec., especially if you're still in warranty.

I've read these oil threads on the 350 and over in the 500 forums.

I just remember back in 96 when the Cobras were having motor failures because owners were trying to run oil in thicker viscosities than recommended. For was testing the oil and asking for PROOF of proper oil changes. There were many motors they didn't warranty.

These motors are so expensive and mine is a 500. I am simply in fear of not using Motorcraft and keeping my receipts with notes on mileage and date changed just in case of a motor issue. I do understand how manufacturers cannot require you to use their products.

I am probably paranoid, but this gives me peace of mind.
