I owned a fox in the past, honestly don't care what people drop in them. Some people though get pissed when you cross swap power plants. Dropping this in a fox with traction would be a beast on the track and could drive it there. Might even run something crazy, like a 9.65...lol.

@Zemedici
I could care less if it was a 2JZ, Hemi, or LS/LT. People can put whatever they want in their cars to make them fast.
It might go 9.65. I’m not a drag racer so my opinion doesn’t really matter when it comes to those times. I wouldn’t mind taking a Demon down a road course though. Prefer it to be a stick too.

I guess I'm the odd man out. I'd rather see a Hemi in it than an LSx.

Built ford tough with Chevy or Mopar stuff.

I would love to own this engine. Actually 2 of them. One to leave boxed in and one to put into a '70 Challenger, if I had the cake of course. lol
Is this the first ever crate engine to have 1,000 HP?

They’re nice. Having driven a 69 Z/28 RS, 69 Grande, 69 Mach, and my 70 T/A. I like the Challenger the most, from those.
And it very well might be the first ever 1000 crate engine. I’m curious what size blower is on it.

Yeah, I love the old school muscle cars. I wish I could have doubles of the cars that I really like. One of each would be 100% stock and one of each would be full pro-touring. (When I say pro-touring, I mean the works. Not just brakes, wheels or engine like most people think or post online. That's not really pro-touring.)
I think the blower is 3.0. Nasty engine indeed.

"Hellephant" is fitting for a 4500lb land barge

Also, didn't Ford have the '08 Cobra Jet running 8's? Oh yeah that's right, I stood next to it with Carroll Shelby at New England Dragway right before they ran 8.9.

Don't forget about the Challenger Drag Pak:

With all the hype, I didn't even notice that it has a blower on it. That kind of puts a damper on the excitement. I was thinking it was 1000HP naturally aspirated. That would've been bad ass. Literally anybody can plop a big blower on an engine and make 1000HP.

@tones_RS3 - find a solid non-running 318 Challenger or Charger now ( 340 and big block cars are silly money ) and get busy collecting everything needed for a kick ass pro-touring beast. It takes time and money but once you find the solid car to start with you’re on your way.

Big power / pro-touring setups in old cars is the most fun IMO.

Possibly from the big 3, but there are some companies that have been doing it for years. Steve Schmidt, for example. A friend bought his 1,200 hp, 565 cid naturally aspirated big block that came with warranty.

Can't a person buy a Cobra Jet crate engine with a 1000HP option? Serious question because I thought the Cobra Jet had optional HP levels.
You could/can but dont think HP number was ever actually given.

The fact that the 426 is returning is enough to cause the hype. It’s only a matter of time before it’s in the production cars. That engine is legendary.

Definitely the most fun bro! Old school muscle car looks with modern big power and modern technology. NASTY!
I would love to do it,......but it would cost me WELL OVER 120K. Plus the time,.......It would be way too much.

Yeah, I meant from the big 3.
But your buddy's engine sounds beastly! 1,200HP N/A engine?!?! Wow.
