I'd agree the ls3 vettes are faster but about the bama tune cat delete coyotes, mine did 12.3 at 115mph on all season tires with a 1.9+ 60 foot. No doubt I believe I could do 11.9 on drag radials. Time slip available if you need it
You in a base 5.0 or loaded out model ?

Way to dodge the question.... Nice back pedal. Seems to me like the only "butthurt" is coming from you.

GS driver was broken. Having owned a Intake/O.R X/ Tune/3.73 5.0 , I can say a GS with a competent driver would have destroyed me from a dig and pulled away from me up top.

Those GS's are no slouch.
- Left the 5.0 game and grabbed myself an M7 C7. OP needs to do the same. It's another world!

I ran a 12.2 @114 with a tune, driveshaft and upper and lower control arms. Stock Pirellis. I don't find the close races unbelievable.

I believe it. Lots of folks talkin shit in here but its more of a drivers race. In my 12 with headers/no cats/ tune only vs a C6 base with headers I jumped ahead of him from 60-120 and he reeled me in from 120-140. His nose was maybe 3-4 feet in front of mine.

Then the guy is a terrible driver...

LS3 GS vettes are every bit of a 11.9 @ 118mph cars. You arent touching that with cat delete and tune only.

Either:

- the car is a turd
- friend cant drive
- your car has more mods

What kind of races where you all doing? Where is the video?
No they are not. 11.9@118 are you insane? We are talking about a C6 LS3 manual GS. The heaviest C6 made. And add to that a manual. They are mid 12 cars at 115 MAYBE with a good driver. I know, I had one. They make 385 at the wheels and just over 400 with a tune. You might be thinking about A8 C7 stingrays touching 11's. Not a GS C6. No way. The GS and S197 5.0 are very evenly matched. I had three of those 5.0's too, before and after the GS. Raced several 5.0s with my GS too and it was neck and neck every time when stock to stock. You are not correct on this.

Old thread is old but this is a fun one. Additional data point, stock tune premium 12' trapped 115mph with some lightweight wheels and tires. Oh and i mention my brothers z51 ls3 car trapped 116 stock at the same track...but thats a lighter car.

Every model has a car that can put up hero runs.

Most stock 11-14 5.0’s trap 110-113 or so... definitely NOT 115 or better.

Same can be said for the LS3 c6. Maybe 1-2mph better than the mustang.

It’s a drivers race between those two cars.

Agree to disagree guys. back in the day(giving away my age) I had a 69 Mach1,428 Cobrajet Auto w/3.50gears(stock) My Best friend had a 70 GTO 455 Judge Auto(stock) and the newbee to our crowd just purchased a brand new 71 Duster 340 auto. We both ran him and beat him by about 2 car lengths on the street at our 1/4 mile. 30-100 we also beat him. One month later he comes back with headers, intake carb and beats us by 2 cars. Now we go to Motor City dragway the next week and run on the "Tree". Every time we lined up we would beat him by 2 cars again! He was poor on the tree. We weren't pro's, but we "treed" him every time. he was awesome on the street with1,2,3, GO, not so much at the track! Moral of my story: Driver competence is a huge factor in any race when the cars are pretty evenly matched
