Congrats - looks and sounds great! Plans for ceiling fans or epoxy on the floor? How about some drawings with dimensions and utility layout and general floor plan?

That's going to be an awesome shop!

My only criticism is I would have wanted some low profile rebar chairs in the slab. This would help prevent cracking and get the most out of your rebar.

Can you explain “rebar chairs”?

How about hard wiring power for security cameras all around? Same for smoke alarms.

Going with LED lights? I put some cheap ones in my garage and wow what a difference. I will never go back to fluorescent lights.

Rebar chairs keep the rebar off the ground so you get concrete cover all around the rebar.

I draw plans for commercial buildings for a living, including foundations. Rebar is in the foundation to brace the concrete in all directions. If you think about it how is it going to achieve that when it's laying on the ground at the bottom of the concrete pour? Look here for more information: How to prepare a site for concrete: base, forms and rebar

You’re moving along! What are the plans for upstairs?
It is moving along. Building materials being delivered tomorrow, but we have to wait 7-10 days for the slab to cure.

Not sure yet on the upstairs, but the plumber ran another pipe to run plumbing up there. Just in case

When I build mine I think I will wire LED’s flush in the eaves all around.

I’m 5 years away from this...gonna be tough to wait, but I can’t move until my younger daughter is through high school. Maybe I can get her to graduate early? She is pretty smart...

I haven't completely decided on lighting, but I think I'm going with fluorescent ceiling lights and LED in the bathroom and man cave.

Hang in there man, you'll have one before you know it.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss!

Youre living everyone's dream on this website lol. Good stuff.

It's pretty surreal honestly. A few months ago my wife said we need a shop for all my stupid decisions. Now I have room to make more
