I think all of us dream of having a shop to do man stuff in. Well, it is becoming a reality for me. I wanted to share the build progress with everyone, as I have enjoyed other member's build threads.

The longest part so far it seems was the HOA approval and obtaining the plethora of permits. These were all obtained and now it seems things a progressing rather quickly.

The shop demensions are 45X60, and it will have a full bath, shower, sink, and shop sink on the opposite side. Plans are to install a Bendpak two post lift, air lines, upstairs storage area, and a man cave room. Of course it needs to hold several vehicles too.

After permits were obtained, the county delivered a culvert for the driveway.

Next, it was formed out, which occurred over the past two days

Which brings us to today. The steel was laid and plumbers did thier thing for the sinks, shower, toilet, and washer/dryer.

And the bathroom area, which will be pretty good size

The concrete will be poured tomorrow, 60 yards of it

So living in town did you have to get all the people that live around you to sign off on it?

Does your garage now have more square feet then the main level of your house?

Is that your house next door? If so why such a big bathroom for your garage?

I live just outside of town in a neighborhood with larger lots. it just needed HOA approval from the neighborhood. There are other homes here that have shops behind them, so it's not uncommon.

No, the garage isn't larger than the house, but it will be occupied more :)

Yes, my house is next door. We are going to combine the two lots after completion and fence it in. The bathroom is pretty much do it up big so you don't regret not making it larger. We have an outdoor kitchen and pool area, so guests can use that bathroom to shower after swimming or whatever.

Wish my detached garage had a shitter. It would be awesome when drinking, when Taco Bell runs thru you to not run in the house.
