So I finally made the swap to the Cobra jet set up and wanting some feedback and see what you guys think..
my last set up was
Holley sniper intake manifold, PMAS cold air, TS long tube headers, and e85.. Car made 450whp and 367tq
New set up
Cobra jet manifold, Ford Performance cold air, TS long tube headers, and e85 car made 448whp and 391tq
I thought i would get a huge jump in peake hp with the CJ over the way less Favorited Holley.. what do you guys think the issue here is? or is there any issue at all and the cobra jet got outperformed in this situation?

several questions...

1. were both dyno pulls on the same dyno?
2. were both dyno pulls done with the same weather/DA
3. did you have your tune revised for Cobra Jet intake?
4. peak numbers aside, what did the power band look like above say 6500, as well as under the curve?
5. which throttle body are you using with the Cobra Jet?

The holley intake makes pretty decent power all the way to 72-74. I wouldn't have expected much gain going to the cobrajet from just an intake swap, especially an intake which is already a high rpm intake.

1. Dyno pulls were made on the same dyno.
2. both dynos were done about the same D/A, 3 weeks apart from each other.
3. tune was revised by the same tuner that dynotuned the holley.
4. CJ started to drop down a bit in power about 6900rpms and stabalized while the holley kept making more power, the cj did seem to make about 10 more hp throughout the curve at certain rpms, just like the holley did the same at certain rpms..
5. im using the VMP twin 67mm throttle body.

in what way was my expectations in error? just trying to become more knowledgeable, maybe i didn't research enough..

Both geared to letting the motor breath all the way to redline N/A. You would have to mount and test both on the same day and even then the difference might not show through the dyno margin of error.

I completely agree with this now... mind i was under the belie the cj would be closer to 470whp from everything i read and reviewd, while the holley is usally at the bottom of the list.. i have learned from testing on my vehicle now, and of course every car is different.

with that being said, i think on this particular test the CJ did not seem to match the expectations with the high price compare to the Holley and what that manifold delivered for the price. just and opinion.
