Putnam Main St Car Cruise Day - 8/12/18

Anybody going to the Putnam Main St Car Cruise Day?

I'll be in the area from 8/10-8/17 visiting family, so I was quite happy to see that the giant car show would be on the 12th. For those not familiar with this, they close down the downtown area of Putnam and it becomes a massive car show, street vendors, food, etc. Lots of fun, lots of cars. It's probably the only time I'll go in public without getting royally pissed off.

"Rolling BURNOUTS".... wow, this is the first time I ever saw that advertised anywhere! I'm guessing they have some sort of safe zone where these are allowed, and I think that is a terrific idea! Every major car event should have a spot where folks can SAFELY spin the wheels a little bit.

This is 60 miles from me, but it's almost worth the drive just to get a chance to do a fully-legal and safe "Rolling BURNOUT" . . . .

That's exactly what they do. There is a section quarantined off with highway dividers. The local police help keep the area clear.

Last time I went was in 2009. It was a blast.

This is one of my favorite shows of the year. it’s like a hour drive for me but well worth it. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to go in a few years and I leave for vacation that day. Maybe next year

It's a nice area, especially in the antique district of Putnam. Has a very 50's feel, though all of the buildings are much older than that.
