Pure stupidity, I cringe at the memory of how I used to drive on the street. Glad I grew up from street racing. Can happen to anyone and out of nowhere no matter how safe you think you are being.

I want another fast car, but then I think wtf am I gonna do with the HP? All I do is street drive & maybe I'd hit Atco a couple times with it. Can't use the damn power on the street anyway. That's very much still a thing. You just don't ever hear about it (unless the participants want you to/video it) because it doesn't end badly. That's what I meant by time and place.

Horrible accident that's going to negatively impact many many lives for years to come. Goes to show how quickly misinformed decisions can change the course of your life and others. This is another reason I won't race my car on the street, because there is too much at stake if any unforeseen variable were to happen. And it also saves me thousands of dollars because I don't feel the need to have the fastest car at the stop light, whereas I would have felt that way several decades ago (most street cars are much faster today than they were in the 90's).
