I've been in public education over 25 years and what so many kids today lack are basic coping skills.
They can always go to their safe spaces. Sheeesh
Or just develop a drug or alcohol habit like real American's.

Authorities found writings in the Texas shooting suspect's journals that indicated he wanted to take his own life, Mr Abbott said.
"We also know information already that the shooter has information contained in journals on his computer and his cell phone that he said that not only did he want to commit the shooting, but he wanted to commit suicide after the shooting," he said.
"As you probably know, he gave himself up and admitted at the time he didn't have the courage to commit the suicide, that he wanted to take his own life earlier," Mr Abbott added.

The alleged shooter used a shotgun and a revolver that were legally owned by his father, Abbott told reporters. Two school resource officers were on the campus and confronted the shooter "early on in the process," Abbott said.

As a parent of a 7 year old daughter trying to teach her said coping skills, I can tell you it's not easy. I just hope by the time she's in high school, she's acquired some that are effective for her. I also hope some other nut job that doesn't have any doesn't shoot the place up.
Can you expand on what you mean by coping skills? They just have no outs, no one to talk to? Too embarrassed to talk to someone?

This is another unfortunate result of a liberal transformation of our society. It started 20+ years ago. Zero tolerance they said, applying to young males. No physical contact, no violence towards one another. Pussifacation of our young boys. We older members probably experienced fighting growing up. I know I had quite a few, never had a victory dance, but never was left for dead either. The funny thing was, usually ended up being friends with most I had run ins with. It is in the males nature to compete, to win and to fight. If you don't have that gene, please don't procreate. The Liberal Society has nurtured the young males mentality. Some simply can't take it, they explode and this is the result.

I see a correlation between declining coping skills and the increased use of today's social social media along with an extreme leftist culture (mainstream) that doesn't emphasize personal responsibility. The culture inspires victimhood, and allows people to think they can't fix anything themselves, and someone else will have to fix it for them. This culture is perpetuated in our school systems and affecting our young people.
