So I put up my build # and for S&G's I decided to see if it was registered and it was. I was able to PM the previous owner and find out more info on my 03 cobra.

Car was sold to a guy (3rd or 4th owner) in 2007 stock with 35k miles. He sold it to a buddy in 2012 with 48k miles. Then he sold it in 2015 with 50k miles to another guy. Then in 2017 I bought it with 53k miles.

So medium story short I have a 03 cobra with 53k miles and I am the 6th or 7th owner. Crazy or not?

I think with the cars being 15 years old and being the 6th or 7th owner is kind of a high turnover rate.

I'm the 3rd owner for both my Cobras.

Coupe: Guy bought it and did not like it I guess. Kept trying to claim lemon law and had dealership replace coil packs as he said it was electrical. Traded it back into the dealership. Another individual buys it and then a dealership in Lubbock Texas got it. I bought it from the dealership in Lubbock with 27K miles on it in 2007. I have NEVER had a problem with it. Has 45K on it now.

Vert: Guy bought in San Diego and enjoyed the hell out of it. Then in 2015 sells it to a guy in Phoenix, AZ. He either didn't know how to work on it or wanted to get out of it quick and listed it here in the Market in March 2016 for 16K. Dropped the price to 15K in April and I scooped it up. It had almost 76K miles on it and needed a lot of TLC. It's a great car now that it's back up to my standard and now has 76K miles on it.

I have no idea the history of my first other than buying it from a friend that had just bought it from a car lot in south Louisiana. I am the 3rd owner of my current cobra. First owner had it for almost 10 years. Traded it in with 32k miles at the same dealership he bought it from and the second owner bought from there and kept for 4 years. Car never left the Tulsa area and now it's only 75 miles north of Tulsa with me. I picked it up from 2cd owner (a member on here) with around 40k on it. It was stock up until the 2cd owner which put a flowmaster catback and 10.5 reps on the back. The carfax shows all maintenance done like clockwork at the same dealership it was originally bought at.

Third owner. First guy bought it an hour from here, drove it three years. Put 20K on the clock. Next guy bought it, lives 15 minutes away from me, kept it ten years, and drove less than 1000 a year.

My car had its first 2 owners in the same TN neighborhood. Original owner took it around the block for some exercise and his neighbor down the street saw him and flagged him down. It was his dream car and he bought it. I am owner #3. Car has 4300 miles and is like new.

I have a 6" binder full of receipts that starts in 07 when it started to get modded.
Looks like my 03 cobra went from TN to WA where it looks like it spent most of it's time. now in MN.

The number of owners isn't near as important as the type of owners.

I completely agree. a 15 year old car with 6 or 7 owners with only 53k miles. Kind of shows that. How many kids at shows see low mileage on the odometer and first thing they say is I would drive the crap of that.

I was told by the previous owner that he's the second owner, which makes me the third.

Original owner bought it new from a Ford dealership about 1.5 hours away from me. I was told he traded it in for a Shelby. The guy I bought it from had to sell it. Because his fiance's father is a big GM guy so he was buying a Corvette.

Almost exactly 8 year's ago I bought it. The car had 20k miles and he was asking 20.5k. I offered him 19.5k on the spot. He didn't want to sell it for that. But went and talked to his fiance witch took maybe 10-15 seconds. He said, "well she said get rid of it".

I'm not sure if it's possible to check how many owners before me? I believe I still have the Auto check report, I'll have to look.
