So I was looking on car Gurus and saw a 14 Shelby 1000 for sale, would you pay that much for one if you had the money? I have always loved the Shelby 1000s so I probably would. But that's why I'm not rich lol. Just wanted to see what you guys thought.
Check out a 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Coupe - $255,995 on CarGurus at https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/share/202587131

I think the base upgrade alone was $155,000, not including the vehicle. No doubt higher if you went with the wide body conversion and other options. Pretty sure you could duplicate it at much lower cost, without paying the Shelby "tax".

Les Baer was one of the hardcore early Pro 5.0 racers. Seems fitting he would of be driving an S1000! I hear he makes badass guns too :)

Supposedly based on an Instagram post I saw somewhere les just bought a blue 2018 super snake. I have seen an s1000 at local car shows and it is pretty nice, to me it is much nicer than that 2018 thingy. I do not like badging that announces hp numbers so never got on board with that. I personally feel like anything with the Shelby name on it post 2013/2014 will have jacked up premiums just for having his name affiliated with it (was 2013/2014 gt500 perhaps the last model with his actual involvement and input?). I know the name carries with it some sort of premium as it is, but hopefully post-deceased name useage does not yield people thinking it is worth even MORE now.

If I was that rich I probably would buy it. I know you could build a GT500 to have a 1000hp way cheaper but I have always wanted a 1000.
Hell no! Buy and mod a stock GT500 if you need that much power. You’ll have a lot of $$ left over.
I have to agree with you. 255k would almost buy you a 05/06 FGT and not going to lie, I would take the FGT over a 1000 any day of the week.

Cool car but there is nothing about it to justify that price...

Also is it just me or is the one you linked not even a wide body? Rear fenders look stock width to me...

I also do NOT like those wheels.

I've always really liked the S1000, but that's an insane asking price. There are many other cars I would rather buy for that kind of money.

I too would love to have one if I had that money, but to me it is not worth the asking price especially the super snakes depreciate after building them. This will to IMO..It is worth maybe $150k at most
