Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

I'm sure the new GT500 will be awesome but it better be running with the Viper ACR's track times and run easy 10s at minimum 135 in the 1/4 to be truly impressive at this point.

Yeah, that would be awesome, wouldn't it? To run with the ACR (which continues to beat out super cars that are priced two and three times more than the ACR), and run 10's on the drag strip.

I don't think the 10's at the drag strip will be a problem; but it's hard to build a top speed car, and a track car...as obviously track cars need a little more aero to help with downforce, and the same aero would severely hurt the 1/4 mile performance.

I can't think of a car on the market that does what you say you expect out of this one, and is priced under $125k.

... Ford needs a rogue group of engineers to throw a blown DOHC 6.2 in a drag oriented street-legal Mustang. ...

In this age of performance oriented cars, that's the last thing they need to do. The only reason Dodge did it is because nobody else was, and they're trying to carve out a niche for themselves. Nobody else even wants to be in that niche anymore.

I love the people that say ADM drop after a year, in the Tampa Bay area you still can't get a GT350 for less than 5k over...even a leftover 2017.

GT350 is a limited run and limited production vehicle. The GT500 is not. That's why the ADMs don't/won't last on it. Once the market demand has been sated, the ADMs will start falling off like old scabs.

Huh? I guess you could claim the gt500 ran 8 years 07-14, although the cars were so different 07-09, 10, 11-12, 13-14 thats a stretch to say. The 350 will have run 4 years in the same body style / configuration, which is more than any 500 ever did. There were over 6000 built in the 2016 model alone.

I'd personally like to see both done. A drag pack car and an track car. No reason it couldn't be done. Sounds like chevy may join Dodge in that market soon. Lets see if ford has the forethought on this one.

Put me firmly into the camp that believes this car will get it's ass handed to it on any road course by the ACR.

Drag strip is obviously a different story.

As impressive as I’m sure this gt500 with 5+ years of development will end up being, I laugh my ass off knowing a man has ran for president, won the very first time, and greatly fixed the country’s economy, labor pools, retirement prospects, and tax system, while stabilizing its immediate and medium range future in half the time this gt500 has taken. If Trump approves a second Supreme Court Justice before this gt500 releases to the public, I will probably buy my self a keep sake to remember it for the rest of my life. Something made like a coffee mug that reads “in 4 years, my president set my country back on track. Meanwhile, it took ford 7 years to make a mustang with a supercharger”
Dude if we were interested in political statements we’d go to Facebook. This is a performance car forum. Cars man. Take your politics to FB or Twitter.

I guess the handful of customers your shop sees weekly speaks for everyone. Step outside your bubble. The only people saying Ford "dropped the ball" with the GT350 are the dumdums who didn't know what they were buying and just wanted the next shiny new thing, and people who couldn't buy one in the first place and are just salty. Not one GT350 owner who knew what he/she was buying is complaining.

1.) His shop is a performance shop...only people going there are looking for increased performance, therefore they are not happy with their current level of performance. Duh.

2.) Dumdums? I knew exactly what I was getting, I wasn't thrilled with it and was able to capitalize on the (then) market trend and move in to a car that better fits me.

3.) I know several GT350 owners who aren't in love with their cars, most being ex-GT500 owners, and a few ex-Boss 302 owners.

The GT350 is not a limited production at all, lol. They will build as many as the greedy dealers can sell, this is why you don't see GT350 #4 of 5,000 placards on them. Limited production vehicles are limited in the number produced and that is decided BEFORE production. (The only GT350 that was a limited production run were the 2015.)

Good try though, as someone mentioned above, they made over 6,000 in 2016...that's not limited.

The Demon, that was limited to 3,000 BEFORE production.

See how that works?

Since this thread is all over the place does anyone know what's inside a black hole? The math tells me it's a singularity, but my gut tells me that isn't right.

@GT Premi takes all the opportunities he can to justify the ADM he paid on his car.

...

I don't know what posts you've been reading. I haven't been trying to "justify" anything. I don't need to. And if you call me "homie" one more time... Don't think I don't know what you're doing.

Hmm... Wonder why they didn't build 26,000 since the demand is still such that dealers can still charge and get ADMs on them. For your reading pleasure: http://autoweek.com/article/car-new...ustang-gt350-gt350r-production-5500-cars-year

Sure, they overshot it, but it's still limited production. Otherwise, they would've made tens of thousands of them. See how that works?

Just seen an add on Kijiji.
Gt350 $10000 off.

So maybe.....

Somebody else posted about a similar ad. When they contacted the dealer, they were still charging a markup on it. It's the old bait-and-switch.

The article, and title, clearly state “may”. Clearly that does not mean “will”, and obviously doesn’t mean “did”. And the source was from a “ford dealer” on another forum.. Perhaps you should’ve read it for your own pleasure first lol
