YesAnyone put these cams in a boosted coyote yet??
Yes
2 centrifical cars picked up 80 & 90HP without adding extra boost running the same fuel/fueling and ignition timing as they did with the stock GT cams.
We have a Whipple 2.9L in progress with these cams and a Hellion setup as well. No numbers on those 2 yet, but they are both idling/driving like stock (as expected).
Absolutely, Daniel at TSS is a high quality Coyote tuner and can handle these cams without any issues.Would Triangle Speed in Orange Texas be able to tune my car to take advantages of the cam swap on a turbo Coyote?
Awesome, thanks for the info shaun.People ask me this nearly weekly, so I guess it's easier to state this here for those that do a search:
I have been designing camshaft profiles for 15 years now, and based on the data I have + my extensive experience exhaust cams ARE NOT NECESSARY on these vehicles (NA, Supercharged, Nitrous, or Turbo). Therefore I DID NOT design the exhaust cams that have been 'paired' with the intake cams.
Due to the high volume of requests from L&M customer's to spend (waste) more $$$ on both intake AND exhaust cams, Michael at L&M came up with the 'paired' exhaust cams to go along with the Intake cams we designed together.
I DID NOT HAVE ANY INPUT IN THESE EXHAUST CAMS.
I DO NOT RUN THESE EXHAUST CAMS IN MY CAR.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM FOR USE WITH THE INTAKE CAMS IF YOU WISH TO KEEP ALL THE LOW/MIDRANGE POWER OF THE INTAKE ONLY CAMS.
I DID NOT TEST THE EXHAUST CAMS AND HAVE NO PLANS ON BUYING THEM FOR TESTING IN OUR R&D VEHICLE.
Shaun,
Do you think the Intake only idea could be taken further with a more aggressive cam? For example, if you were going the extra mile and having your heads worked, and went with stronger valve springs, could you push this further with a custom grind intake only cam?
That's interesting. Heads and an aggressive more aggressive intake-only cam could be a fun combo.Absolutely
Shaun, have you had any customers run the L&M LM1 cams yet? I'm interested to see what they gain over the intake only setup as well as the trade-offs.
