Just wanted to put this out there incase anybody else was in the same shoes.

So I had a little vibration that was starting to annoy my OCDness....lol It wasn't bad at all but I cant stand when something is loose. So I started troubleshooting and trying to narrow the source down. It sounded like it was coming from around the center dash area near the center vents. Took out the whole dash and drove it to see if I could pin point the problem....then I finally found it....it wasn't from the dash at all...it was from my rear view mirror.

So I thought I would put this out there just to save somebody else some time and the hassle of tearing apart their dash...check your rear view first....lol

Hope this helps someone and saves you some time.

Yea bro it is very annoying lol. My dad thought it was coming from the dash also lol, but when he was trying to find out where it was coming from I put my hand on the rear view mirror ( I knew that's where it was coming from lol) and it went away. So we just deal with it.

Interesting thread. When I bought my car in July I had the glove box squeaking when I hit bumps and the rattle from the dash you guys described above. I took apart the latch on the glove box and lubed all moving parts which solved that but I havent been able to track down the rattle from the dash area. Next timeI drive it Ill check the rear view, I will be happy if its as simple at that. Thanks for posting this before I took apart my entire interior looking for it.

You'll never do a aftermarket K member like BMR. It would drive you nuts with everything that rattles. I'm some what use to it now.

My 04 had a aftermarket tubular K member with coilovers. Lets just say ill never run that set up again. This car rides nice, I plan to keep it that way.

All my other stangs, 95, 97, 03 Cobra with a tubular K member actually wasn't that bad. My 05 and my 14...different story. I had poly motormounts on the other cars but the S197 with the smaller poly pieces do zero justice with vibrations.

Search youtube. A lot of guys buy an o-ring from lowes or home depot and cut it and then wedge it into the rear view mirror bracket to eliminate the vibration. Gets the job done.
