I bet they lowball the hell out of you because it's a "specialty vehicle". That's what the dealer told me once when I was debating on trading in my 13 gt500. (they offered 38K btw over a year and a half ago with a fully optioned 4500 mile car). Could of easily gotten low-mid 50's private sell then. If it's not a need to get the raptor just take your time to sell it. The right buyer will eventually come along. Not like the new raptor is going anywhere.

people can ask whatever they want. What are said vehicles selling for?
I've personally heard of a couple of guys locally buying 07-09 models with 20K+ models private party for 31-33K. They really wanted them and the sellers made out like bandits, it seems.

Wherever there is a buyer, a seller has the upper hand.

Not sure about GT500 prices, but like i said for my '13 5.0 with 25k miles stealership offered 15k. I contact the 2nd person out of 20+ people emailing me and sold the car for 24k. Not sure I could have gotten more without sitting and waiting for weeks/months.

I posted on craigslist and car gurus. My bro took a screen shot of my car:

private party will always yield more money, but its much more work vs just trading in at a dealership, which is what Richard is wanting to do.

I never understood why people trade in. I mean, you know you're getting boo-food, right?

I think some states give a "tax break" when you trade in a car. So you could save close to that 3-4k difference in sales tax, and save yourself the hassle.

really? that's crazy. nonetheless I think OP should list it on the forums and autotrader first, before getting boo-food at the dealer ...

not at my post...
I have sold two cars on autotrader in about a weeks time, both within 1K of my asking price; its the way to go IMHO...FWIW I did go the lazy route and trade my C5Z when I bought the 14 GT; took it up the shitter too.

Yes. That is correct. However, that doesn't apply to CA. You always pay the full tax price there. One more reason to bail out of CA..

I also think it really depends on the dealer you go to. I received 27K trade in on my 2014 GT last year. Dealer sold in about a month later. I had another dealer offer me 22K and wouldn't budge.

Good luck Rich!
Hopefully they offer you what you are looking for, or very close to it.

Depends on what your time and hassle is worth to you. Between the tax break and not dealing with the hassle of a private sale, it can make a lot of sense to just trade in.

Is this trade in value based on getting a new raptor at msrp?
