Thanks fellas, here's some pics:

Dyno graph, only one at my disposal, but others pulled to 7000rpm with 21-22 degrees timing gave 930-940s, yes on pump E85 testing E87-89:

Intercooler mods to allow more flow to Bigun cooler. I had bought this intake CNC ported and coated w/ Bigun installed from Birdoc, then we did the cut/weld/port under the bypass, very impressive change in person:

Can see the mild intake port match and some minor bowl work, no exhaust porting unfortunately due to miscommunication:

And here's a few of the garage built so we can work on the cars. This has been a 5 year plan that finally materialized. Its 40'x80' with 14' walls and 2 lifts with LED lights and natural gas heaters:

And here's what started it all, fractured oil pump gears on a 3-4 power shift while datalogging. Was approx. 750rwhp and shift flair almost 7300rpm on datalog that looked perfect:

And last time I want to see this:

I'll try and find a few more and definitely will have some nicer vids idling/driving/racing once spring hits. Some cool small mods to finish up also, so this is not completed yet, it'll get better!

Jim III:
Thanks for the solid badass motor.
Quality is worth the wait!
I'm glad you warranty it to 1200hp, I didn't expect this much TVS only, so maybe I'll actually get close if we use the nitous bar plumbed into the intake!

Awesome numbers Jay. Did you have that block sleeved? So the KB big gun is an upgrade to the 13 14 intercoolers, I guess I assumed it was only an upgrade for 07-12?
No sleeve.
This is the JDM shortblock using a new Ford original 5.8 block, sadly not many if at all are available from Ford. I'll have the original undamaged shortblock wrapped for safe-keeping.
Jim III and others can correct me if I'm wrong, but several guys trust say the unsleeved 5.8 block is preferred at this level and that the plasma spray bore is actually very durable over what most machine shops can do.

The intercooler in the '13-14s is a solid upgrade over previous GT500s and to be honest, if I didn't have this available at a great package deal, I'm not sure I would have spent the money.
The KB Bigun cooler is 1/2-1" wider and has 16 rows compared to 12 OEM.
KB recommends specific modification to fit it, and we went the extra step on the cut/port/weld of the area under the bypass. You can see some of this in the pics, big thanks to Bad Company and SVTP for the pics/advice.

Nice build, what did you go with for a fuel system?
Great question and this was a big surprise to both Lidio and me--it only has 3 fuel mods: ID1300s, KB 20V comp BAP and Canton factory replacement SS filter.
This is pump E85 at this point (I may use race spec non-pump fuel like C85 from VP on race events) and we were very concerned the fuel system would be a serious limiting factor.
We did find that this is the limit of the factory fuel system we are comfortable with.
For my street/strip goals and not wanting more power, it's safe as is, but I would be VERY careful datalogging for a 1/2 or mile top-speed events. The pumps may not keep up under sustained WOT.

So, what is the biggest Dynojet number on the new Gen 2R?
I can't believe it came so close to 1000rwhp with a 2.3 TVS!

This is pretty much maxed on pump E85 with 21-22 degrees timing; these were SAE corrected numbers on a calibrated Dynojet.
I'll be back in the spring for fine tuning after the ice tank and other minor mods.
This is the middle road 2.5" upper pulley (have 2.4" and 2.6" also).

What could a 2.4"upper and ice water trunk bring to the table?

Will anyone crack 1000hp on a true street/strip build?

If guys know me, you know I'm not hug-up on racing dyno numbers and that this car will be at the strip the season for a serious effort.
But a proven Dynojet probably is the best comparison for builds across the country. IMO, too many variables with other dynos and strip only (trap MPH notwithstanding, but still, driver mod).

Can't say enough good things about Sylvain at BPS and his generous advice as well as willingness to get me a new R quickly PLUS showcase his porting talents on the new case and Whipple TB. You da man Sylvain!

Hey Jay, I was wondering what happened to you.

Good to see your back in the game.

It sounds like you are going to have your hands full keeping that beast on the road. lol

Very Impressive.

Take care.

Wassup Greg?
We must get together this spring, I am very serious about swapping my current AMG DD for a Hellcat Charger come spring and want to see your ride/pick your brain.
Did you get the auto or stick? I thought the 8A was a game changer in my '14 Ram.
Plus I figured a get together could remind you that GT500s are still serious when you roll up in the Hellcat :)

So much goodness in one thread! Showing up with two incredible builds. And, those are some sweet wheels I see there.:) Car sounds great. I want to do cams so bad it hurts, but if the engine comes out I'd have to check the other boxes and things go $$$ quick. Congrats man this has been a while coming and I know you can't wait til spring to get some passes. So what's up with the 350 and why is your front end off on the bed?

Incredible power numbers! I wasn't expecting that from a 2.3 blower. You must have a very well thought out engine build!

Love the shop too.

I know you are a very busy guy, so just shoot me a PM when you have time this spring/summer on a Saturday or Sunday to meet up and I will drive over.

My Hellcat is a Challenger A8. One of the reasons I went with the automatic is I remembered how much you raved about the automatic in your Ram, plus the Spec clutch I had put in the GT500 kind of killed that for me.:(

Amazing what you have done to your GT500 and that "garage" you build is Awesome. I can't wait to see them both in person.

See you soon.

Nice job J, both with the car and garage. At least you'll be able to start enjoying the garage now, unfortunately you'll have to wait on spring for the car.

He finally sent me the highest pull, not too shabby 943rwhp SAE from a 2.3 TVS.

The '66 is a real GT350H and been in my family for 25+ years waiting a nice resto and return to black and gold. It's one of 4 Mustangs I own---'66, '91 LX True Street drag car, super clean driver Teal '93 Cobra (getting Coyote swap), and the '14 GT500. My brothers have the red '86 GT (turbo Terminator 8-sec True Street) and '90 notch (has a Coyote 6R sitting in it awaiting mild turbo build). My dad has the black '13 Boss Laguna Seca and a real '67 GT500. So, yeah, were Mustang fans and I built the garage for our family and friend use.

As for the front bumper, I'm doing some paint work on the lower spoiler, adding LED dark fogs and modding the factory bumper support to add fans to stock heat exchanger. The GT500 will also get a rear ice tank but other than gauges, WOT box, line lock and some small things, I'm ready to enjoy it and make a run at 9s on 18" wheels. While apart I swapped the trans to a Magnum XL (for the SFI bell and Direct mount shifter), did a SPEC clutch and flywheel.
It went 10.87@137 before the ported blower, so I'm hoping 9s around 145mph shouldn't be too difficult.
I'll get it on the lift for pics soon.
Thanks again everyone.

I don't know how hard you can turn the SC without causing a lot of heating of the air as it is being pushed through the SC. Mathematically it is screaming with your current pulley combo at 22,736 RPM for an airflow of 1847 CFM. The dyno graph is showing a drop in boost, which is good for a heat reduction of the air, but it is also telling you the engine wants more air above 4500 engine RPM. This thing will produce some big power with some more air. I believe it will respond very well to the NOS above 4500 RPM, if you're willing to take the risk to do it. I wouldn't bring it on until you get to the RPM area in the power band where boost is dropping.

The intake mods are designed to reduce the pressure differential above the intercooler versus below it. This in of itself will help reduce IAT2 temperatures, because of less heat in the air before it enters the intercooler, due to a lower boost number above the cooler.

The numbers are impressive for the LIL SC you'e using.

Were you able to use the Shelby Mike intercooler setup or did you have to use the stock setup? I'm trying to find a way to make it work with my whipple setup but it looks like it's gonna be tight

I don't know what to say J but WOW. You have been busy this last past year.
Very impressed with your build and your mancave.
I may have to take a drive up to Summit MP this summer if you plan on being there.
I never knew the `66 was a Hertz,,sweet!
