I just purchased a Gen I TVS that is ported and includes a ported elbow. I got new TR6 plugs and 66MM TB that i am throwing in with it. I know that i am going to need a BAP and new injectors as well but am trying to decide on what size i need. Currently i am at 580whp with stg2 cams, LT's, X-pipe, JLT intake, tune, and 3" exhaust all the way back. I was reading that most people run the stock 13/14 injectors but am wondering if that will be enough. Should i go with 60# or jump up to 72's?

Just go id1000's off the bat it will save you money in the long run. I have 72's with my 2.9 Whipple and regret it because if I want to go with cams I'll end up needing bigger injectors.

This. Put in ID1000s and you wont have to ever swap injectors again.

One and done. Plus EVERYONE has flow data for the Injector Dynamics Injectors.

You guys must have a helluva lot more money than I do. Forking over $940 for ID1000 fuel injectors when $200 13/14' injectors will work great with a BAP up to 725+/- RWHP would be a tough financial decision for me. And not sure how going ID1000 will save money in the long run. They're going to depreciate a heckuva lot more than 13/14' injectors.

The quality of ID's over anything else is far more than the difference in cost. Others may work "fine" or "great" but they are nowhere close to ID quality, tunabiity, and driveability.

Since I can't edit - my FRPP 80lbs and BAP worked "fine" to make 850 tire, but they idle like shit with AFR's all over the place and driveability suffers. I'm putting ID1700's in my car and not looking back.

The 13/14' GT500's seem to have great street manners off the show room floor with their OEM injectors and the factory tune.

OEM and aftermarket have very different goals and constraints.

Will they work? Yes. Are there better options? Yes. Spending the money isn't for everyone, it's up to the end user to determine whether or not its worth it. For a bolt on TVS car that's street driven, it may not be. For a more performance oriented build where specific results are desired then it's probably a good idea to buy a motorsports focused injector.

So much BS in this thread. You guys have been sucking at the JDM teat for too long. '13 injectors have been used on countless cars making well over 700 rwhp, which is more than 95% of the guys on this specific forum. Search posts from BJ, Van, and everyone else who uses them and has verifiable data. And yeah, EVERYONE HAS FLOW DATA ON THEM - like all the reputable tuners. LOL at the $1,000 injectors that aren't needed...

Not sucking on anything, ID's are far and away better injectors than anything else on the market and their price (value) reflects that. Again, it's up to the end user to determine what product will meet their needs. ID's aren't more expensive for no reason as some here seem to think. A few hundred dollars more for a significantly better product seems like a no brainer to me, especially when they are as critical as fuel injectors.

Have you ever even had a Lund tune? I have, one remote from Senior, one remote from Junior. Have you ever had a VMP tune? I have (and currently do). Know what injector both Lund, Justin and BJ recommended? Stock '13 injectors.

I know you're really trying, but did you even read that conversation in your picture? They're ID1700's used on 1,100+ rwhp setups. So what's your point?

Different strokes different folks....if you guys don't want to use the ID on your builds then don't. However we all know horsepower is addicting, so when you want MORE than 700-750rwhp, you will be buying injectors....again.

At that point you'll be at the same price if not more than the IDs to start with. That was my whole point. Not to mention IDC will be over 90% on 13/14 injectors at that power level...id rather have more headroom.

Sure they'll 'work', but ID leave room to grow.

Back to the original post/question..... with OP's soon to be installed setup with ported Gen I, LTs, cams, and upper pulley, he should be In the range where 56 lb injectors should be able to supply ample fuel for his power level.

If OP has possible future plans to significantly increase power levels, AND he has a spare $750 to spend, he could definitely consider upgrading fuel injectors. If he does not have the money, but does indeed plan to increase power levels in the future, he will not lose significant money by going 56's now and upgrading later, and it is certainly not difficult to change out injectors on these cars.

It is on my car. You have to pull the blower to change injectors.

My mind and my car seem to be constantly changing so the way they save money is in the long run when you have to buy injectors twice. If 13/14 injectors are $200 and a bap is $400-$500 then you are close to what id1000's cost. That being said if you are the kind of person that will settle and 13/14 injectors will get you by they are good and reasonable then why not?

Nah, I'm the type of person that tries to do accurate research, see how other respected GT500 owners are approaching the modifying of their cars, and then decide on my own personal path to performance. I am by no means an expert, but when practical, try to help fellow members with sound and unbiased advice based on the above.

Get the 13/14 injectors if they are enough. When/if you need to upgrade you can sell them for near what you paid and upgrade. No doubt the IDs are awesome products. I just never understood why injectors for our cars cost so much. $1k for injectors? Really?
