At Full Tilt Boogie Racing we are very pleased to announce the availability of our Shelby GT 350R, Brembo four wheel brake conversion kit that you can bolt on to your 2015, 2016 or 2017 Mustang. James has been hard at work in our shop converting our shop R&D car to assure you everything that is required for you do do this brake conversion is included in your kit so you can convert your car in your garage. The kit will include everything needed for a bolt-on conversion and will include the integral rear e-brake as delivered on the Shelby GT 350R.

Tomorrow we will start posting photos of the kit and reveal pricing. The price of the kit will be significantly less than $4,000.00 which is a bargain for a 4 wheel Brembo brake conversion kit. Some Brembo big brake kits sell for more than that to convert just the front only.

When I drove the Shelby GT 350R at Road America last year during the Ford North American Track Tour, the single most outstanding feature, in my honest opinion, were the brakes. This vehicle shops like no other Mustang ever built. These are without question the best brakes to ever be delivered on any Mustang including Shelby GT 500, FR500C and Boss 302R/S.

Stay tuned for more exciting information.

Here are a few pictures of the kits. Unfortunately the 19" PP wheels do not clear, but any wheels that fits the Shelby GT350 will. We went with Project 6GR 19" wheels to go over the 15.5" front and 15" rear Shelby brakes. Prices will be announced by tomorrow.

Front Kit

Rear Kit

Front 15.5" Brembos behind 19" Project 6GR wheels

Rear Parking Brake Assembly

Before, with OEM Rear brakes

After, with 4 Piston 15" Brembos

As you can see by the photos that James has posted, there is a quite a bit of hardware required to do this conversion, particularly in the rear. The rear brake conversion also requires the swap of the rear knuckle to the GT 350 version in order to be able to convert the rear parking brake which is housed in the hat of the rear brake rotor.

The kits will be available shortly after Labor Day. We will take pre-orders on a first come first shipped basis. The e-brake components will come to you assembled in the kit as shown in the photo above. The kits will come with everything you need to do the swap along with complete installation instructions as well.

The entire four wheel brake conversion kit will list for $3,895.00 (subjest to price increases from Ford) for everything you need to convert your S-550 to GT 350R Brembo brakes with red calipers. And like always, sending a check in with your order will save us Pay-Pal and CC fees, so we pass a 5% savings onto you for that.

We are going to be offering a few options for the kit. One of the options will be Tob's front caliper stud kit. Another will be removing the OEM rubber bushing in the rear knuckle and replacing it with our FT 548 spherical bearing assembly. These can be seen on our S-550 order page: 2015 S550 Mustang Suspension Parts and Tools We also will be offering Girodisc two piece full floating front rotor assemblies. The rear two piece floating rotors from Girodisc are honestly going to be a while before they will be available, but we will keep the thread informed of the status of these. More info to come on these options.

We'd be glad to answer any questions anyone might have.

The FTBR Team

Will you be offering the rear only option? If so, how much would that be?

Yes, the rear kit is $2,145.00 (subject to change based on price increases from Ford) complete. There is one option for the rear kit and that is our FT 548 spherical bearings installed in the knuckles replacing the OEM rubber bushings. That option will cost $178.00 to convert the pair of knuckles. There is no labor charge, just the cost of the spherical bearing assemblies. There is only one rubber bushing in the knuckle from Ford that needs to be replaced. The other is actually a spherical bearing for whatever reason.

We hope that helps.

Did I read that right that the rear kit will be based around a 15" rotor with 4 pistons?

How will that pair with the 15" performance pack front brakes? Will that throw off the brake bias too much?

Given the massive size of the performance pack front brakes, at only 1/2" smaller diameter than the Shelby GT 350 front brakes, and also having six pistons, the rear kit would be a good match for it. The OEM rear brakes are significantly undersized on the performance pack vehicles.

Will you be offering this kit with the black GT350 calipers? Also, does the stock GT brake system have enough balls to properly run a system like this?

Great work guys I'm definitely considering this

I don't see any reason why we couldn't offer the kit in black. We'd just need to confirm the caliper pricing for you. Shoot me a PM or inquire at [email protected] and we can let you know.

Yes, we have the system on our 2015 GT and it performs well. We also had the 15" Performance Pack brakes on this same car prior to this kit and all of the brakes performed well.

I too would be interested in the black ones as it would match the PP fronts.

Black calipers will not change the price of the fronts, however a $40.00 savings would be seen with black rear calipers. So a rear only kit or a 4 wheel kit with black calipers would be a $40.00 total savings.

Great work FTBR Team!

Question. Does this kit clear the Front and Rear 19" PP Wheels?

....also. What kind of weight savings does the front kit save over the PP set-up?

Thanks again!

amazing kit!

Now just adapt the front calipers to the S197 (since I can't afford the 6k club race kit to keep up with Drew) pls.

I have a feeling that despite my street car purspose for the S550 that some day this kit will end up on it.

You will lose some weight up front because the Shelby 2 piece 15.5" rotors are almost 4 lbs lighter each over the PP 15" rotors. The OEM 13" rear brakes weighs about the same as the Shelby 15" rear kit.
