I have the video if anyone wants to see it. Anyhow, I ran a brand new Scat Pack Challenger from a slow roll and a 50 roll back to back this spring when I was still on pump gas and I put about 5-6 cars on him letting out around 85-90 mph. So after checking that off my list I hit the track on 7/30 and got a chance to line up against a 707hp Hellcat. Now my car is on E85 with a rear cell (15 gal.) and I ripped his ass out of the hole with a 1.619 short on his 1.72 He caught me the last 400 feet or so and put about 2 cars on me at the end. He fought the whole way to get ahead. I have that video as well.

This was all accomplished with my 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII on stock engine with 8 psi on a Vortech.

If I were to take a Hellcat on the street I think it would be a door to door race. I might add a few degrees of timing just to make sure. The guy at the track with the Kitty was not very talkative when I approached him. LOL

So the Hellcat caught you and put 2 car lengths on you at the track, even though you "ripped his ass out of the hole".

I am just wondering why you think that you would be "door to door" with a Hellcat on the street?

Awesome car you have there, but...this^. It looks like you trap about 12mph less than a HC, so on the streets (I assume you mean roll), I think it would be anal rape.

Messing around on the street, how often do most people go in excess of 100mph? Not me. He started inching past me at 100 mph at the track probably the last 300 feet or so. Our 1/8 mile times were identical which for me was 93mph on my slip. I suppose if we did a 60-150 roll?? LOL The Lincoln has proven a fairly even match until triple digit mph.

The Hellcat trapped 4mph more than me. He trapped 120. So, not 12.

I'll be adding a few more degrees of timing. You guys should stay tuned. I'll be trapping 120 this October. I'm going for high 10s which is Hellcat on slicks territory.

Regarding the mph, it will always be slower until I get a converter that holds lockup if that even ever happens. I'm running my converter fully unlocked which loses mph. With the et and launch though I'm not going to mess with a good thing. All it needs is a bit more timing and some more weight tricks.

WTF, it was only trapping 120? I was assuming he was trapping near what they typically do...even my last time at the track the DA was 2500 and the two bone stock ones on 555Rs were trapping 125-127.

The slow out of the hole appears to be the Cat's problem. Driver mod required.

My guess is that he had the traction control fully engaged, maybe the AC still running.

Good kill on the Scat Pack even though I think the amount of cars is exaggerated. 6 cars in only 30mph is a lot when you're only a little faster considering the trap speeds.

Nice Run with the Hellcat too!

At the streets and from a dig I am sure you will most likely embarrass Hellcat owners as their cars struggle with traction. From a roll it might be a different story once you get up to speeds.

Hellcats are pigs...they run 11.3-12.4 here at 118-122...good race on the street as they don't hook especially the manuals

On the streets from a dig I think you'd do pretty well. Like the others say they do have traction issues. I've raced a heavily modded one (991 at the wheels according to driver) my cobra has about 650 I can hang door to door with him till about 90mph then when he hooks he is gone like I'm hitting the brakes. I did get the chance to drive his before it got modded. If you did a 60-150 you might still stand a chance once the hellcat hits 120 it falls on its face.

So many people brag about beating or running with STOCK hellcats. Race against one that has pulleys, tune, and tires. Those cars will run low 10s to high 9s with ease. Wait until they start putting whipples on them. I'm very impressed with these Hellcats. Nevertheless, your Mark VIII did well and is definitely is a sleeper

LOL at the comments about Hellcats from a dig.

Find one that runs drag radials with a half decent driver and you will find that they are consistently pulling 3.5 sec. 0-60 mph on the street.

My 16 Scat Pack with just a Nitto DR and no other mods ran 11.93@115 0-60 on Performance Pages says 3.7 with a 12.1 so the 0-60 was probably closer to 3.5-3.6. Just like the Shelby the 2 main issues the SP and HC have are driver mod and traction. I've seen bone stock HC run 10.9 with a tire and a good driver. I've also seen them run mid 11's and 13-14 stock Shelby's running in the 12's. As a matter of fact I beat a 13 Shelby with one of my 11.9 runs because of traction and driver. Having owned one, I know the car is much faster but spinning ain't winning and the auto is the way to go if you want to be consistent.

I love hellcats. Super impressive cars out of the box. I feel bad for any unsuspecting stock one that tries to pick a fight with my sedan.
