I think this would be a good thread to answer question on what is needed to do this. I was told the oil filter angle is different. I think a lot of people are going to be looking into this since the Aluminators are based on the '15.

Can you buy a '15 motor and change the cams to work? Can you bolt all of your current parts onto a '15 shortblock?

I know some have played with this so any info will help so others will know

Or can you get a boss short block thru ford? Or at that point would it just be cheaper to go with a stronger aftermarket setup?

IMO if you already have a 11-14 motor then get the '15 up shortblock and a pair of '15 heads. Swap all your other items over onto the assembled "long block". If you shop around and do the work yourself it's around $3500 total.

The guy over in the power adder section looks like he is doing the short block. 2 grand for it. Are the 15 heads that much better or do they make the swap easier somehow?

I was curious about this topic myself.
Since all the aluminators are 15 based, what would it take to drop one into a 11-14?

The 15 heads are basically boss heads but "as cast" (boss heads are cnc ported) so they do flow a little better.

And as far as what I've seen, everything swaps over to the 15 shortblock but you have to use the 11-14 timing equipment (if using 11-14 cams), use the 15 oil filter adapter and if switching to head studs, use the proper threaded studs for the 15 block. I'm sure there's a few more things I'm missing so hopefully someone fills in the rest.

A '15 long block will not work in a '11-'14. It will physically fit, but the cams "park" in the wrong place. You can use '11-14 cams to make it work. Or use your existing heads and cams. Lengthy discussion in the Power Adder section. I will be using a '15 short block with my heads and cams. One oil hole that needs to be plugged in the '15 block.

This really seems like the most cost effective option for the guy that wants to stay under 800rwhp or so and feel pretty safe. Short block is 2k and to get everything swapped over and put in by a shop should be 2 to 3k. I know in my zo6 to pull my ls7 and swap everything over to an lsx short block and reinstall with fluids and gaskets and all is about 3k from a very reputable shop. The 2015 pistons and rods are forged right? Pretty much the same stuff that was used in the boss?

He is asking about short block, not long block. In case some of you don't know the difference a short block has no heads. So will 11-14 heads fit on the 15 short block? And if so would the timing completes line up? Only ask about timing stuff because maybe the crank gear is set in or out further on the crank?

Power By The Hour now offers our very own custom Coyote long blocks. These long block engines are built with all Ford components from the all new S550 platform but with the timing components from a 2011-14 Coyote. With the addition of billet oil pump gears this combination can safely sustain up to 800rwhp and in some cases much more.

*Brand new Ford short block with factory S550 rotating assembly.
*Comes with stock 11-14 camshafts with option to upgrade to Comp Cams NSR cams.
*Brand new Ford cylinder heads also from the S550 platform(higher flow than previous models)

By the way, because it seems that one or two of you don't understand this, you can still get an Alluminator shortblock for the 2011 GT ;however, you can no longer get the Alluminator long block for 2011 GT.

Unless something changed you can't. I was looking into this around Christmas and no one could get one. I even talked to Ford and they said they were all out of the '14's and were switching to the '15 block. Aluminators are based on current production engines they tear down and rebuild into Aluminators. The part number ends with "A"

So it is sounding like a '15 shortblock will go into a '11-'14 so technically you are right but it is based on a '15 block

You have give them your shortblock to get the $7000 price otherwise it's a extra thousand bucks.

Starting to think that you don't understand the difference between a short block and a block. The link that you just provided is for an 11 to 14 GT Mustang and it is a short block with Manley and Mahle components called the Alluminator; however, they are now using the block from a 15 GT. You can still get the Alluminator short block for your 2011-2014 GT ( which u proved by the link u provided) which is A different part then the stock 2015 shortblock that comes with a new 2015 GT which is not as strong as the Alluminator. Ugh
I don't understand the point in trying to point out that you can't get the 11 to 14 block anymore. Who cares.
