Brady, something that might help you. Try placing painters tape all inside your fender area. After a quick drive you will clearly see where it's rubbing. The pics could be misleading but it looks like the area rubbed on the tire is a couple of inches. That surely seems excessive especially since you have already rolled that area. As someone mentioned above your irs could not be centered correctly.

If you do the tape method when you go for a ride have your wife or friend sit in the back. The idea is to get it to rub as much as possible so you can see where it's rubbing. Once you figure that out you can see how to eliminate it.

mine rubs where the rear bumper meets the steel inner fender. ive rolled about as much as i can go but i dont think it will help any as i cant roll that area. i just switched from a 315 30 18 to the 305 35 18 r888 so ill see if it rubs the same, more or less. i too am on an 18x11 TF wheel but im probably a little lower than you (h&r sport springs with no iso's)

That's a good idea, I'll give it a try. If my rear isn't centered correctly, I was told there isn't much I can do about it.

Remember, I had the same exact tire on 18x10 without any rubbing when fender wasn't rolled.

Mine rubbed their too. Seems like the metal bulges out more at that point by almost 1/4 inch more. I took an air grinder and ground it down in that small 2 inch area. I stopped right before the spot weld and it seemed to work for me.

I have never heard of someone having this issue with the IRS not being centered but it makes sense. Then again I do not know how it will be off center, the IRS subframe has 4 mounting points, you cant really have it to far left or right....

Its not so much the tire width but more so the rim offset that you are concerned with. I know you ordered a set that was designed specifically for IRS cars..... thats what makes this so strange. Good luck with it and keep posting updates, I have been following this thread since you first made it.

Yeah it's mind boggling and frustrating at the same time. I just rolled the passenger side pretty much flush. Wasn't gonna go over the drivers side again because it doesn't rub. But now it's driving me crazy because it doesn't match the other side. So I'll go back and do that soon.

That's pretty severe. Car must really be squatting to compress far enough from that ride height and still rub. I am curious if lower but stiffer springs would eliminate the rub?

Yeah I'm not sure, already running h&r race springs with bilstein b8 shocks. When I push down on the trunk it seems stiff.

I started looking at my car closely after you had posted this and it seemed my car was the opposite, the driver side was slightly closer to fender flush. I plum bobbed both sides in several spots along the top of the fender and in referenced to the fender, my driver side tire is 1/4" further out vs passenger side, so opposite of yours.

I'm guessing if you tried to plum bob yours it would just hit the tire since your offset is really aggressive. Point is - I don't think it's anything that unusual for one side to be off slightly. I mean look at how poorly they mounted the IRS on these cars in the first place.

I have the same issue. It's hardly noticeable without the 3/8 spacer though. I have an old set of chrome reps with 315 555r's and my setup did not need the spacers, cleared everything. With the spacers on I believe it's the passenger rear that sticks out like a sore thumb, it really annoyed me.

Air Bags and a fender roll, cured this problem for me. Springs are cut one full coil, front and rear.

RDP: Yeah I think it's not out of the norm that the irs isn't centered correctly on every car.

Skitzerman: Do you recon what air bags you went with?

Well here are some pictures of the fender now rolled. It's quite aggressive, pretty much flush. My car suspension looks really jacked up, I think some of it is because I had it on jack stands and my garage floor isn't close to level. Once I'm on other roads the car sits much lower. Like the picture in my sig.

Now I have to roll the drivers side fender just as much because it looks odd having one look super aggressive and the other not so much.

The air lines are attached with zip ties at various places around the gas tank and behind the rear bumper. I have the air inlet fittings installed in the upper rear wall of the spare tire well.

Cool thanks for the help.

Time for anti roll bar. I had a 8 second fox body in the days and those rear axles were also off set to the right side. A anti roll bar solved this problem. But I also installed a 9" but the rear also was offset to the right. Check to see if your center to center wheel base is the same side to side and do a 4 wheel Aliment by stringing the car.

I'm at a loss for you. The IRS had to be off-center, mine is too. I haven't had a chance to get on mine since the switch to the 305 35 r888s yet but I didn't have nearly that ammount of rubbing with the 315s. The car does the tq the pass side so I would just start with one bag on that side. Hopefully that solves your problem

Yeah I'm going to test it again after rolling fender more. And I'll likely try the one air bag if it continues to rub.
