Buying VMP stage 2, anything I'm missing?

I'm about to buy the VMP stage 2 kit for my 2013 M6. So far I've got the DSS 1 piece aluminium drive shaft, lethal offroad h-pipe, stock manifolds, MGW gen 2 race spec, 3.73's, and about to be running GT500 quad tips. I'm working on finding a set of 3 inch over the axle pipes but that has been a fruitless search so far. I'm tune with AED and plan to stay that way. I plan on going with the ID 1000's and an 82mm pulley looking for the 600-650 whp range on the stock internals. I don't drive all out 100% of the time so I figure it should last a good while before a built motor is in order. My question is, have I missed anything? Missed any other bolt ons that I need/will help with the HP quest. I've done some searching and about the only thing I've seen is a lot of people running long tubes. I've read in more places than one that the stock manifolds flow pretty well and should be able to accommodate moderate boost. Billet oil pump gears will also be used with the install of the kit.

Thanks

sounds pretty good to go. I would maybe check out the 80mm pulley. Any plans to run E85? If you go that route you should have no problem with getting to 650 i would assume.

I have been kicking the E85 idea around. I've read both ways on it, some people say the fuel system components that will be in contact with it are stainless steel and can stand up to the corrosive effects of ethanol and other say it cant so that what keeps me on the fence about it. I haven't ran it by Shaun at AED yet, but I plan to. Does VMP offer an 80mm? I've been cruising their website and I only saw 85,82,79,75,72,69. I'm trying to get to GT500 power but at the same time, I dont want to go and blow a hole in the motor on purpose. Shes a DD right now, but I plan to buy an older truck a little later on. 82mm is supposed to land you at 10psi and their 79 is advertised at 11psi. The general rule of thumb I've come across is 10psi or 600 rwhp is the safe zone for a stock coyote internals

Sweet, I didnt know you had one your car. So youre running the 82 then? What else do you have paired with the supercharger? How much boost do you typically see and whats your miles logged since install?

Yeah im running the 83 but with the LU47's, I got the better throttle body through VMP, the Triple pass heat exchanger. Other then than. Nothing else was done to the engine or drivetrain. I usually see a peak of 9ish, though i try to keep my eyes on the road instead of the gauge. I'd say i've almost put maybe 15-18k miles on it. Reaching the end of my second year of having the supercharger installed on the car. Been a DD and i've beat on it a bit.

Awesome man, thats just about what I'm looking for. I planned on going with their dual 60mm throttle body at first and seeing how it ran/what psi it put me at. Glad to hear you've logged a lot of trouble free miles on it. Do you think the 56# injectors can keep up with the fueling demands of E85? I was planning on going with the ID 1000's for that reason but if I can get away with 500 extra bucks in my pocket then I will.

You are certainly going to be a tad higher than gt500 power at 600whp.

Yeah, I was just trying to land in their neighborhood if not a little past it. I wanted a 13 or 14 GT500 but at the time that I bought my GT I couldnt afford a 45k-50k car. So now I'm just going to make my own. haha

I don't run E85. I've been tossing around the idea but since i like to be out and about in my car i don't feel like planning my route based on E85 stations. You need a minimum of the ID1000's to run E85

Ya, my tuner wants ID1000's at a minimum but really wants a return style fuel system also. JPC racing has one for $1500 that will work. Its a fall project for me.

Don't order the jlt intake because I think AED doesn't like to tune with them on a car. Also, might want to invest in gauges even though they aren't a supporting mod.

Yeah, I've read about fitment issues with the JLT for our cars. I think the majority of people I read about were swapping over to the Roush intakes. Do you have any suggestions to which intake would fit and allow for similar air flow to the 123mm JLT? I'm thinking about getting a gauge pod or just the boost gauge that goes in the driver side air vent, I havent decided 100% yet.

Okay, I probably go ID 1000's just incase I get the itch to add more power down the road. I also prefer to stick with 93 pump gas as you can throw a coin any direction where I live and find it. Right now I'm with shell and that NITRO PLUS stuff they have. I know E85 gives you the ability to push more power and has better detention protection but funds start to fall short quickly when going FI. E85 may be a later on project for me as well, The Beast 2014

I'd consider swapping out to a lower gear. 3.73s with a blower is quite the handful.. A lot of people go with something around 3.31 to manage the power better.

I run the jlt with my vmp kit with no fitment issues but when I inquired about a tune through AED, they stated they wouldn't tune my car with that intake.

Yeah they make traction a little hard as my car sits right now. I figure some better tires and a fully handling kit(in works for a later purchase) will help it. I like the snap it has with the 3.73. Most of any pulls I'll be doing will be from a roll anyway. However, I'll drop down if it proves to be a big issue and results in no fun when driving.

Hmm, that's odd. I'm going to have to ask Shaun why he doesn't like the jlt. I just assumed it from the couple of reviews having figments issues was the reason. After doing a little more research, I may just see if VMP will let me trade out the jlt for the 67mm twin throttle body and start out with my stock air box for now and see what power/psi that puts me out and then add or stay content from there

I would like to know why AED won't tune with the JLT also. As for fitment mine didn't just fall into place but after a little fiddling it fit fine.
