Auto Zone put it on clearance in the computer as of 12/1. The stores themselves don't know. I cleared my local one out this morning. It's a great oil. Can't beat $2 a quart. The person at the checkout thought I had some kind of in with the company LOL.

Do I order it online and pickup in the store or just walk in and get it?

I went to my local store and attempted to get this deal. The oil was still $8.xx/quart.
I believe this is the one I tried to buy: F129011997.jpg

Looked in my local store today too.

Nothing on sale in the five quart jugs either. I'm hoping it's a rolling sale that moves from district to district.

In the title when I said 5 quart, by that I meant the 5 quart jug. Right oil though. The quarts are not on sale, the 0W20 Advanced Fuel Economy jugs are not on sale.

Oldmodman, it shows full price on the shelf, $35.99 or so. Like I said the stores are not aware, it rings up $10. I have 8 so far, two states. $10 price is national as of Dec 1.

Must be area specific? That oil isn't even listed in my local stores.

I have noticed that different stores have different oils. Hot climate might make this not something to carry at your store. Around here some carry Royal Purple, some don't. Some even have the SRT specific high moly Pennzoil Ultra 0w40.

They didn't have any 5 qrt jugs, but I'm not sure they ever carried them. They did have individual quarts for $4.00 though. I didn't buy any, still have a lot of old formula 5w30 Ultra left.

I went by the store. They still don't have the M1 on sale although it is stock. Castrol Edge was marked $2.00 but sold out. I was able to get a ton of Pennzoil Ultra in 0w20, 10w30, 5w30, and 0w40 for $2.00. They were marked, no hidden discount.

Nice score! I got a ton of the black bottle SRT spec high moly 0w40 and 5w20 yesterday. But the 5w40 Ultra wasn't discounted and the bottles were ancient, Ferrari logo on them. I also got 8 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic ATF for $2 a quart, unmarked, not all stores are discounting those.

Sounds like they are getting ready to re-do the entire oil section.

Some changes. They're getting rid of the SRT specific oil, which is so obscure it doesn't really belong on their shelf. They're getting rid of slow sellers, like M1 0w30. They're making room for STP oil which will replace their store brand. And I guess they try to clear out any old inventory that doesn't meet specs that newer versions of the same oils do.

Bought about 45 quarts of Pennzoil Ultra at $2 a quart. Ultra Platinum 10w30 (amazing oil, 5.3% NOACK) - SRT Ultra 0w40 and 5w20. Ultra Euro L 5w30.

Not sure wth I'm going to do with it all, I also bought 8 five quart 0w30 jugs early on. It won't go bad. I might not have to buy oil again until my mid 30's.

Nice score. However, I don't think the formulation of Ultra that's sold now (SN, IIRK) has the super low NOACK of the old (SM) formulation. UB can shed a bit more light on this.
