I tried it before and it works almost immediately. For the first 3K miles the knocking and pinging disappeared on my nissan maxima and infiniti I35. But what really worked so far permanently is consistently filling up with the new shell v-power nitro+ 93 octane gasoline. The knocking and pinging are 100% gone without using any fuel additive. Even the CEL turned off by itself.

That knocking will come back. Once it gets use to the spoiling of the goodies

I've been using the new Shell V-power nitro + consistently ever since it came out about 8 months ago and still no knocking or pinging. I wonder for how long I should use it before the engine gets use to the spoiling of the goodies. And still no CEL.

I may have a good test for this, or another fuel system cleaner. I was doing the annual service on one of my generators when I noticed that the piston seemed to have a good deal of carbon build up. I may run some cleaner through it with before and after pics.
