Is there a new 500 on the horizon?

Decided to forego the GT350, and get a new Raptor when it comes out. I'd like to get the next gen GT500 to go along with the truck.

Any news? Will there be one?

Thanks!

Im calling it right now next gt500 will be ecoboost v8 twin turbo 5.0 coyote or twin turbo 5.2 liter lower compression version of the gt350 motor built for boost, similar to what ford did in 2003 with the mach 1 and 2003 cobra. twin turbo ec0boost 5.2 700hp for 2017

I agree, TT 5.2 at 700+. Hameedi said the 5.2 is the largest engine program SVT has ever done so I'd expect a turbo'd derivative. Team Camaro won't get a top dog engine and FCA is very weak right now and couldn't possibly justify a response.

That would be awesome. I hoping for this!!

I agree Ford is loving the twin turbo eco boost right, now with it being in the New Ford GT and Raptor it seems like a no brainer for the new Shelby to be a twin turbo.

Honestly, I hope 2014 is the last year for a long time with the GT500 name tag. I figure the next one will be a strip oriented Mach 1 again.

IIRC...Ford has use of the Shelby name for 10 more years. Hopefully that will bring another GT500.

Hell, I'd be okay with another SVT Mustang Cobra. I know there is no more SVT...

Ford may have an issue. Can't have the pony looking better than the horse, and a properly done TT 5.0 would look a hell of a lot better than the little POS V6 they are putting in the Ford GT.

While I wholeheartedly disagree with you, you're on the wrong track from the get go. If you think potential GT owners give a damn about a mustang then you are sorely mistaken, regardless of what you think the GT is.

I'm just hoping the past doesn't repeat itself and the GT500 get the motor from the GT. Not that I don't like the TT V6 from the GT I just want the 500 to retain the V8.
