Hi, I asked you earlier today about oil and I appreciate your answers. On subject of oil filters, should I purchase the Eao11 for my Mustang instead of the Eao17 which is recommended.

I also meant to say that my Roush RS3 has the Trac Pac
Also, are you certain that the EaO11 oil filter will fit my engine with no problem
Seems like I read somewhere about different sizes and such concerning the filters.
All I know is that my engine calls for the FL500 filter
Since I will be purchasing the 10W-30 per your recommendation, would it be better to use the FL820?
Thanks

Yes, your engine does call for the EaO17 oil filter, which is longer yet more narrow. The EaO11 is the oil filter used on the GT500 and Ford GT Supercar engines. It has a higher gallon per minute flow, and I recommend that you use it on your Coyote as well. I use it on my 2014 GT twin turbo car. The EaO11 is Amsoil's version of Motorcraft FL820. Bang for the buck, the FL820 is a winner. However, it can't compete with the EaO11.

What are your thoughts on the bypass pressure rating difference of the two filters?

Ratings are given the same, unless detailed testing specs were given from Amsoil.....I honestly could not comment on it. I do know my Twin Turbo car had a weird mild knocking noise at very low throttle. However, it would go away under higher rpm and throttle. I swapped the EaO17 for the EaO11, and the sound was gone. So, whas that EaO17 defective, or did the EaO11 give more flow at lower rpm? If more flow, was it due to media surface area, more area between the can and media, or because it was allowing more bypass? I don't have the means to test this.

The jury is out.
