hey Van i was wondering what kind of parts would i need to get the max about of hp but also safe for a stock internal motor. i have a 13-5 with a upper pulley and a bps ported elbow. future mods im doing arh headers and off road h pipe. also thinking a clutch to support the power. What would be the best list of parts needed and a estimate on cost for the parts to take it to 750-800 at the tires if its possible on 91 fuel. 93 octane fuel is availbe were i live but on road trips 91 would be easier to find. your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
evan

Let's not even try to think of that kind of horsepower range on 91 Pump Gas. With the long tubes and off road exhaust with the current set up and good air we could see 700 RWHP and 700 RWTQ. Let's stay conservative and not push it.

If you wanted to push a little further and you can get some 100 octane unleaded race gas we can turn up the power some more and get close to 750 and not worry about engine internals.

Ok thanks van looks like 700 will be the max. I run 94 octane fuel. I want to take this car on some road trips and 94 will be the highest I can find. Thanks again van

Our cars have adaptive octane strategy. So if we do a 91 tune and you put 94 in it. And the knock sensors and commanded wide band O2 sensors like the fuel the knock sensors will actually begin to add timing when you are under load and going WOT!!

Ah, I love the technology of these newer cars.

Van, I have the 13-6, 93 oct, with smaller s/c pulley, 3.73s and am enjoying every mile. I had previously asked about adding VPs C-9 to the pump 93 to give me some octane cushion. As I recall, you were not a big fan of this, but said, I could add a little, just do not go crazy ie high ratios. I am having no issues, other than a few P0300, which have quit. In this post, when you mention running higher octane gas, are you refering to a tank of 100 oct or 96 as opposed to a blend. I am about to put in an order for some more VP and will probably eliminate the C-9. I interpreted your advise as the adaptive strategy not able to adapt fast enough if the tank of fuel was not a consistent blend. I drive the car just for street cruising with occasional red line pulls.
On another issue, maybe you can advise me. I have a 99 Cobra with a KB supercharger. Will the return fuel system, mix the canned gasoline with the pump to make the blend consistent? Yes, I want to bump up the octane on this one too, but doubt the computer is nearly as advanced as the 13 Shelby. Thanks,

I know this is a old post, but curiosity has gotten the better of me:)

Has there been any tests/comparisons between the 91 tune what happens when 94 is thrown in the tank? Just curious how much timing is added with the adaptive strategy.
