DANG IT meng! BNIB Oil pump is on back order till the end of Aug. approx. date... any one has a BNIB oil pump laying around? Possibly from a build that not yet has taken off? If anyone can help, that would be awesome! May have to do a WTB thread.

doesn't MMR sell a full billet pump? or TSS

Just found one! TASCAPARTS.COM has 2 in stock and verified part # make and model application. He also verified for me does his records show back order, it did... But he has 2 in stock. ONE IS NOW CLAIMED! ;) So, letting someone else know the info to snag the other. Aug-Sept is the "What is said" to be back on the shelves from FORD Dealers.

Glad to see this thread turned from shitshow to technical. Sorry for your luck OP. We are all rolling the dice when we mod, some of us a lot more than others of course. I lost a motor in my first 5.0 years ago with the #8 cylinder issues when these cars first hit the streets. Feel your pain for sure.. nothing worse than having your car being down. Still seems like a bad call to run it before finalizing the tune, although not the culprit.

Yeah, for real. "CHECKED" as one of lifes little lessons learned. But, glad it was NOT the reason for my motor failure here. That would have made a already vomiting feeling, worse...lol! This issue would not have shown its early path to destruction via data logging.

Yeah, data logging helps just incase something is wrong. Just loaded our base tune to check, ready for WOT w no revisions. Don't forget to check the underside of the piston. That will give you an idea of the start. If it didn't have any real witness marks it may have just snapped. Pretty hard to do N/A but not impossible. I have another here w a broken rod. I'm going to take a look tomorrow and see if it bent the rod before breaking. It's possible since this one was boosted. You can see the back four plugs were detonating like a mother because of the air distribution in the intake because of the type of FI. But it wasn't the cause of this death either luckily. All pistons and valves in tact even after she let go.

Even the forged parts can fail - there is a guy on yellowbullet that did everything right, I mean everything - he ran Manley I-beam rods and billet everything else.. he had two rods let go and not at the rod bolt either. Like this case they never figured out what exactly went wrong I think MMR diagnosed it as a bad coil that caused the cylinder to fill up with fuel and eventually the rods let go (1400 HP pull). That guy decided to sell the entire car! i'm glad you decided to stick with it.

I also was told an early world challenge car fractured a rod bolt and that was with the manley std. h beam rods - not sure if it was the big daddy 7/16" arp 2000 bolt or the std. 3/8 bolt.

Well... thanks for raining on my "Happy Dance". ;) I know everything and anything is possible but damn. If this happened again, there will be NO sticking with it.

So yesterday, I visited Racing Integration and Collin and I were talking a lil and he broke news the heads will be done this week and there were 3 bent valves. How 3 bent valves? I have no damn idea. Neither does Collin. Anyways, they were cheap as hell (which is weird) @ $24.00 for ALL 3 Valves. Anyways, time is coming and assembly starts next week. The light is at the end of the tunnel. (pic) My NEW wheels mounted...Dat ass tho! ;)

And here are more detailed pics of the actual damage while the windowed block is on the stand. The damage was BAD!

I forgot what Collin said it was when I asked the same ? but it was weird to me at 1st glance since looking at it looks as if it was soldiered or welded on by each end of the object. With that damage, could have been anything...lol!

well...I guess its pretty much a closed subject in this thread since no definitive proof of the failure was established and since the 1st prognosis does not seem to be the culprit (fuel inj. failure) although, there is a small % of that still being possible. The failure is being chalked up as a weak rod that just let go. Another words, SHIT HAPPENS! Nothing else to report or follow up here since this is not a build thread. Moving on. Build starts this week - next week sometime. Thanks to all
