hey guys, so my passenger side window doesn't go up or down when i push the buttons from either door. i dont hear any noise from the motor working and the lights dont dim down so its not pulling any current.

could this be a bad window motor or regulator? any tips or questions r welcome!

If you have a DMM you can check for voltage at the switch. And then voltage at the motor. If it stopped working suddenly then chances are it's the motor. That's how my driver side was. Rolled the window up to wash the car. Went to roll it down after pulling in the garage and it didn't work anymore.

I'd pull the door panel and hit the window button and see if you're getting power to the motor. If not you've got a wiring problem. If you get power motors shot...

Depends on if the motor is shorted internally or not. If it's just not working it won't draw anything. I was able to get mine working again by taking it apart and cleaning and regreasing it. But it died again about a month later.

i can take out the motor and connect it t a 12 volt battery to test it right?

another thing is that both doors unlock the passenger side but dont lock it? could that be a clue to what might be wrong?

As I said before, if you have a meter you can check for voltage at the switch. It takes about 5 minutes to do. AFAIK the locks are on a different circuit. You might have two seperate issues. Time to dive in and do some troubleshooting.

+1

And pick up a haynes manual.
The schematics are in the back.

also check for chassi grounds as you look at power pins.

The ground lugs getting loose is a common thing.
They are down by the passenger and driver side lower panel footwells.
But you gotta get in there.
