MMR has had a overwhelming # of calls from engine builders and customers across the country with broken/failed lower crankshaft sprockets. It seems the majority have been those with upgraded camshafts but many have also been stock applications. We even received a call from a MMR dealers who had even broke 2 on the same engine. When this part breaks catastrophic failure is certain (bent valves, damaged pistons, cylinder heads etc). MMR went to work quickly on a solution and are now selling the MMR Billet Steel gear. This gear replaces the factory powdered metal gear directly with no other changes, the MMR gears are manufactured from billet 9310 heat treated material and precision made in the US by MMR. If you are building aftermarket engine, rebuilding a engine you need one of these!!! Retail on the Billet steel gears is $299. There is no need to double key the sprocket since they are not known for spinning on the crank, just the balancer and crank snout (in front of the gear) need to be double keyed.

My 5.8 John built for me has the sprocket double keyed as well as the crank timing wheel. Doesn't hurt to double key it ,help distribute the load it has from all the valve train components, either way your product is better than the factory sprocket

I Just like their timing kit they sell for almost $500. Yet ford only charged $250. Yes and thats ford.

What timing kit are you referring to? Our company is known for the exact opposite as the picture you portray, customers purchase Genuine Ford parts from us because we are CHEAPER than the dealer not more expensive as you have hinted. In regards to the kit can you tell us which exact items, the reason we ask is 1. We want to make sure we continue to have the lowest prices and 2. Ford Dealers do not offer timing kits, they offer each part individually, and if your reference is a GT500 complete timing parts list the price is FAR more than the $250 you listed. Curios.......
