I saw this thing heading from my kitchen to the living room. Not sure how it got in, and not sure what it is... Wondering if anyone could identify it and let me know if it is poisonous.... :??:

Yep that sure is a garden snake, look at the end of the tail. it's previous shedding has taken away most of the green. Generally the tail does stay with a hint of green no matter how old they get. The older they get the more yellow/brown they get. Unusual back scales though, very unusual pattern!

Although be careful, mainly because you can get an infection from what they have been slithering through, unless you really no your body well. Don't open the jar if you can help it.

Looks like a Garter snake which are non venomous. If you touch it, just make sure you wash your hands. You should wash them after handling any reptile.

Yeah, I would release it back outside. Maybe a bit away from your house. They're beneficial.

Will do. There is a nice wooded area behind the house that it probably came from - just this time, to get to the house, it'll have to travel a lot further.
Thanks for the help all. I did overlook the fact that to some members here cobras might be the only type of snake in existence - lol i am sure one of the guys actually went out to look at the hood of his car, seeing if it matched the picture i provided - so he could let me know what it is
