Well, I just installed new plugs and a wideband. The wideband is a AEM unit and is pretty inconsistent . I took it for a drive today got on it some then pulled it back in the garage and pulled the coil covers, looks like the coils are popping off the plugs some? Here's a pick of the 1st plug I pulled. Any ideas?

At idle its between 14 and 15. I did 1 pull and it was at 11.3 11.5 then did another and it was 12ish not sure if it was in 2nd or 3rd. I'm not sure if I trust this wideband either. When I took off the COP cover on the drivers side it appears that the COPs were not all the way down either?

When reading plugs your supposed to do a WOT pull then immediately pull a plug to read, not do some pulls, cruise home and try and read a plug. The cruising will wash the WOT reading out. Drag racers shut the car down and tow it back to the pits to read plugs for fine tuning.

If that plug were pulled immediately after a pull I would say the timing looks good as you want the blue line to be after the sharp bend and before the weld point on the strap. from the pic it actually looks like you could advance timing a little more but I wouldn't. As far as AFR the WOT AFR/mixture ring is on the base of the porcelain and needs a special light to properly read. Your porcelain is too white, it should be light tan/graish which leans to a lean condition or a spark plug that is to hot.

Reading plugs like this can get a little complicated and more than what most here would require.

You don't have any specs, deposits, damage to your strap so I'd say your ok. But you also did not pull a plug immediately after doing a pull.....

And I'm off my soapbox, hope I didn't confuse you to much

Thanks for the input Troy! I think I'm going to drive it to my tuner on Sat and let him put it on the Dyno to check everything out before I beat on it, especially after its been parked for the last 3 months. It drives really smooth and idles perfect. My OCD may be getting the best of me

I think letting your tuner look at it if your second guessing it is the best idea. Looking at a plug over the net is not the right way to do it besides looking for advice on obvious damage.

I'd run the br7ef. I know some guys run the tr6 with success when making 600+, but you're much better off going a step colder here imo. Good luck.

Troy,
Will winter gas cause lean conditions?
