Sorry to hijack thread but, would like your advice for my 2011 GT500. I'm in Ontario, only summer driving, outside temps will be 70-90+ degrees. What do you recommend for my trans, engine and rear diff. Want to change all three before the season.. Thanks

Yea i know what im gonna use and it aint from ford but is my 13 manual telling me to use the original QS fluid from the 11's

I wouldn't be surprised.

To everyone wondering about MTF vs MTG just simply listen to UB and know what he says is FACT.

I ran both in my MT-82 and MTF is def the best all around fluid. If you are gonna be in any kind of cold climate simply use MTF.

If you are only going to see a hot climate then use MTG. MTG is awesome for heat but you will get some grind or notchyness if the tranny gets cold for the first few shifts then its butter Mcbutterson.

IMO if your car will ever see 50ish degrees or colder use MTF. If not then use MTG.

FWIW I am using MTF and my car sees days as hot as 115+ degrees. Tranny shifts like butter always.

has anyone use syncromesh?

My mustang has a T56 so I put ATF in it. However I do run the syncromesh in my Honda and it made a huge difference. Before in first gear the trans whined very loud, now its really quiet. This stuff made my shifts a lot smoother as well. This in in a stock Honda trans with 183k on it.

I'd stick with either RedLine MTL or Amsoil MTF. Bypass Amsoil MTG completely, as MTF is sufficient in all climates.

Took a gamble and tried RP synchromax, I had maxgear in it and it was pretty good. But it's really notchy underpower with synchromax. Did one track outing with it, and I'm changing it.
Going to go with red line mtl, the Bemmer guys seem to like it better than the synchromax as well.

Going to put some Amsoil Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid 5W-30 ( MTF ) in my Tack Pack 2014 in 2 weeks, I am in Vancouver BC Canada with colder weather and not as hot summers, so I'll be sure to let you guys know how it goes.
My MT82 hasn't been as bad as what I hear from others online, but it does make whine noises occasionally when its hotter out & lockouts from 2nd to 3rd under hard acceleration. I'll also be putting in a MGW shifter next week (not the race spec since standard one is cheaper now) I know you shouldn't fix it if it ain't broken, but w/e I like to tinker with shit. Anything to look out for when changing the fluid?

I think that is a good choise. I went with the MTG and dont like the hard notchy shift when cold, and Im in Arizona. I may be changing it for the MTF by next winter.

Not to hijack this thread but sometimes when I shift from 1st to 2nd, I get a crunch. I took it into the dealer and they said it was normal. Would Amsoil Synchromesh or MTG remedy this issue?

Switched my fluid over weekend... dunno how much it improved things as I didn't have many issues before except for 2 to 3rd lockouts in high rpm shifts, But the MGW fixed everything. WOW what a difference!

FivePointO : just get a MGW & do the fluid swap to Amsoil MTF or the Redline since you'll be under there anyways. I guarantee you this will fix almost, if not all of you're MT-82 issues. I still hear a clunk from 1st to 2nd occasionally but its normal as long as the shifts are fine. Only other thing you can do is a transmission swap. Its a cheapo transmission you get what you paid for. People are expecting way too much from this transmission & forget how much they paid for 400 NA HP.

Well, I read the whole thread and still do not know what to use in my 99 Cobra T-45 and 13 Shelby T6060.
I live in the South. Would buy Amsoil for both, if I could get a definite product.

Because of cold notch & grind, I replaced the stock fluid in my '12 Boss (06/11 build) with Amsoil MTF & it developed gear whine in all gears. Added XL-18 which did not help. I'm considering mixing MTF (5-30) & MTG (75-90) to hopefully quiet it down & still shifting good. I wouldn't mind the whine if it was from a blower but not my transmission. Even tho I reside in NJ, it doesn't get driven a lot in the cold months so hopefully it would be a good compromise.
Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

Others have had this happen to them. No matter what lube they used after the whine began, it didn't go away from what I have read. More viscous lubricants will quiet noises, but at the expense of cool/cold performance.
