I got the older style 3 pump Fore fuel hat with 3 walbro 255's. Now my question is, if i decided to switch two only 2 walbro 465's will it fit with to the current 3 pump bracket or will i have to buy the one for only 2? Also, are the walbro 465 the same diameter as the 255 (upper portion of pump)?

I thought I read a thread about this awhile back that said the 465's would not work in the old Fore style triple pump hat. I would like to go that direction myself if it does work.

Upper part of the pumps r the same size as a 255 or a aero 340, had a 340 n 400 (same size as 465) side by side. The base is the only bigger part

So in short response it will work since all what is held is the upper portion of the pump, correct?

Not sure if the lower portion of the pumps will interfere with each other in the old style triple pump hat.

Looking closely at the hat, you will only be able to run 2 465's (1 and 3 hole on the bracket) because it will interfere with the bottom portion of the pump.

That's good to know. If my Deatsch pumps ever give out I would look at using (2) 465's in there place.

Hrm, this is good to know...I might have to change to two 465's which is more than enough pump in my opinion...Do you have the link to that product by chance? I looked on his website, but couldn't find anything (most likely user error). iI just hate having to drop the tank again lol.

Since you guys know the most about fuel systems I thought I would stop in even if my question is not related to E85.

If the 465s will not fit in the original Fore hat then what fuel pump options would someone in my shoes have. I am upgrading from the twin ford GT pumps in a returnless setup to a return style to run C16 in my 03 turbo Cobra. Should be around 900rwhp at most with my th400 transmission. I will be limited by the turbo at this point.

I have been eyeing the Aeromotive Stealth Eliminator drop in pump. I know the turbo will be upgraded some day.

If you are upgrading to return, just buy the hat that fits the 465 pumps. I much prefer that over noisy single pumps. The stock style system is awesome and will support all the power you want to make. Fwiw, I've made 950 on e85 with a modified stock hat and twin 340lph pumps.

I talked to the guy at fore innovations (not fore precision works) he said they wouldn't fit because they are about 1/4 inch longer. But from what i been reading around the net, the pump itself is the same, the only difference is the bottom section. I also asked him if they sold the adapters for them and they said no.

99cobra09, thanks for the info. I found some of that info but you filled in the missing pieces.

I will be going with the stealth eliminator setup if I have to get another hat. One big pump makes more sense for me and how I have been using the car. If it fails the car will fall on its face and not just loose pressure and lean out.

I did this over the weekend, I have 2 465 and a gss342 in the old style return hat. There is no mod necessary to the basket....it is pretty close though, you do how ever have to cut the nipples off the 465 pumps so they do not bottom out.

Sorry for the blurred picture but you get the idea.
