Does anyone else on here have employess who work for you or under you that are just plain simpletons? I mean no common sense and they think everyone needs to wait on them and worship the ground they walk on.

Case in point. Lady calls me that has worked here since 1999. She says the new girl cannot get her voice mail because she does not have a voice mail button. I said, A what button? She says a voice mail button.

I then proceed to tell her you use the messages button and it will dial voice mail for you and you input your code and password. She said, Well I never have done it that way before. I said come look at my phone it is the way most all of them are set up. Then she proceeded to berate me because I had never taken the time in the last 14+ years to tell her to press the messages button to get her voice mail.

Geez, some people are not quite bright. Just wondering if you have any like this.

Because she does not know that piece of technology, I would not assume she is simple. She was presented with change and in my experience, folks don't like dealing with change, it doesn't mean they are stupid.

With that said, the world is full of stupid sons of bitches who should have been killed at birth for the betterment of the species. Just my .02.

There has been no change here with the phones in over 8 years. Crazy is, it just now comes to her attention that someone's phone was different than hers. Thats all I am saying.

I struggle with them at both of my companies. We've been through more employees this year than I ever thought possible. I've had to teach multiple people how to use rulers. That's something I learned to do in 1st grade. Basic math, penmanship, grammar, spelling, etc....all of the things people should know in grade-school are foreign concepts.

The world is full of simpletons. Look no further than this board for prime examples.

I work with them every day!! Just last week I was asked to go outside and get the paper because the parking lot was in a mess they may fall. I'm surprised I haven't bit through my tounge yet. And I'm always asked to fix computer issues, I mean seriously simple shit, like scanning documents and opening them, hell even entering the correct email address is hard for some, and even asking them to click something or save it is done wrong when standing next to them. And god forbid an icon changes or a file gets dragged into another folder. I really have to much patience for my own good.

Quick interjection: in the Marine Corps, if there was a computer, there were generally 2-3 higher-ups trying to figure out how to work it.

I work with a lot of Indians and while they are great people, theyre ethics and feelings toward women have not crossed over into the amercian ways. They are great people but many feel a right, a authority and a sense of "i need it now so drop what your doing". Its very irritating since most will not ever chance their beliefs and ways. In a corporate scene that is a human resources fun house in itself so it always goes on deaf ears.

I'm lucky that my two co-workers seem to be very intelligent. No telling what they think about me though.

There's a guy in my shop who has been on the crew for 34 years and counting. He isn't a very big fan of change at all and he tells you too. So a lot of the stuff we have and do on this crew is very dated. Half the guys here have been on the crew longer than I've been alive (26yo).

My dear god it's insane how much we change what we do for people who are too slow to do things how they should be done. We had a digital time card application which we paid at least a hundred thousand for at the city which had to be trashed because the lady who did the time cards couldn't understand how to calculate peoples time.....We also had to print out excel time cards after that in all caps so she could read them, and reprint the timecard if there was a lower case in it...talk about serious waste of resources. Thank god she just retired so I hope someone with higher rank can figure out there is cheap time card applications which could work without spending all of our departments funds.

Sounds like because the button was labeled "Messages" and not "Voice Mail", she got thrown for a loop. Assuming that was the case, so how, then, did she retrieve her voice mail over the past 14+ years?
