I've been waiting three months for this stupid car to get here, and according to MB, it's arrived at the vehicle processing center somewhere in Georgia or Alabama today, so should be put on the truck to Texas by Friday. I wish I could've gotten the 350 engine, but the only car Mercedes makes for the US with a manual is the SLK250. So.... I figured since I have to special order it anyways, I might as well make it awesome and exactly how I want. Here's the build sheet with all the options:

Mine is the only 2014 SLK with a manual transmission in the US, to my knowledge. The Dynamic Handling Package is pretty sick, and I'm not sure if anyone has even ordered it on the car (mayyybe the 350, but probably not the 250). It's got torque vectoring brake system, electronically-variable suspension, and then "direct steer" which I don't really care about. I plan on auto-crossing it with the SCCA like I used to with my 2006 C-class. I got a lot of weird looks because I was the only MB there, which is fine lol. Now- it's time to show up all the Miatas :coolman: haha well, at least try. Never driven such a small car so I'll have to get used to it.

Once it comes in, I'm getting the darkest legal tint I can, powder coating the wheels a two-tone glossy black and machined finish, and then buying this: Matte Aluminum Plasti Dip to go over all the chrome trim, emblems and door pieces. All black and matte silver is what I'm going for.

I'm really excited, and will definitely post pics when it comes in. It's such a fun car to drive, even with the automatic, so I can't wait to drive it with stick! Just one more week......

$50k and it doesn't have the big engine?? F that.

haha yeah.... I'm not paying that much cause I'm an employee, but even with the small engine, the thing gets sideways pretty easy. For a 4 cylinder- it's actually pretty impressive. Only reason I got the car is because I wanted a manual transmission and it's the only thing I can get with it from MB. I wish the C63 came with a manual option. How SICK would that be?!

manual mercs are really rare. Heres my .02, after that cars warranty expires.. GET RID OF IT!!!! Ive worked on mercs and owned 2. And a few friends have them as well, great cars BUT absolute nightmares to work on, and i work on my fair share of Euros. They make it so you have to go to the dealership, mainly their diagnostic system that really puts you in a loss for words as most generic fault codes cannot be read without it and STAR (mb diagnostic tool) is about 5K to own or $1,700 for the Chinese knockoff brand and no guarantees. Besides that ENJOY THE CAR!!! congrats

I drove a C250 with the 7-speed auto recently and thought it was very peppy for a small 4-banger. Torque was ample and it had no problem passing even at highway speeds. I would imagine the same engine in a smaller car with a manual would be a lot of fun.

Yeah no joke.... my 2006 was a nightmare. I bought it used, out of warranty, and payments+thousand dollar repairs= not fun. Traded it in for the 13' and have someone taking that one as we speak. Just waiting on final documents to go through.

What's curb weight?

3,241 lbs for the manual

That's alot of coin for an SLK... But hey.. As long as your boyfriend likes it. :D

My boyfriend might get to drive it-if he's good lol. And if I get to drive his truck :-D

and I hope y'all realize I'm a girl- so your insults don't really mean anything to me lol
Thats good that you're interested in driving a 3rd pedal car. Don't be that person that is getting his manual mustang converted to an auto because he wife won't learn how to drive a stick.

I prefer driving a manual. I like the feeling of being a part of the car. That connection is why I love cars. You lose that in an automatic. Plus I'm a control freak.... So there's that lol
