So I've found a 2003 Cobra that's close to home and it's pretty much what I'm looking for. Today was my first time I've ever driven a terminator. :D It is amazing. The guy wants 21,000 but I think he'll come down to 20. I just want some opinions on the car and if it's worth the money. Here's the details:
33,000 miles
Steig ported eaton
Mac exhaust
Upper and lower pulley
Now here's what I'm not sure about, It has a solid rear axle. I've heard good things about the terminators IRS so is this a deal breaker?

Its not a deal breaker did it drive nice? Not make anynoise from the rear end? but to me that would definately drop the price some for having a SRA vs IRS you could always swap one back in if you want or just leave that its mostly done for drag racing even though you can build the IRS. But if you really like the car to me if it has a SRA its been raced so id check the compression ratio give it a full one over racing isnt a bad thing im just saying hopefully since it has a SRA it has not been beat to hell post some pics.

If you were a car collector, looking for a Terminator with low miles, near mint, and all stock then i'd say yea, it's a deal breaker. haha. IDK man, alot of guys swap out the IRS for a SRA because they plan, or have added so much power that it's just the next best step for the car. You can def. blow the rear end out of this car if you have too much power.

It's your call, depends on if it bothers you!?
How does the car look over all? Paint? Wheels? Tires? Engine?

If he has an SRA, it's possible it's seen some track time. So ask questions, and look deep. You def. don't want to inherit an engine that's been abused.

You'll know the right car when you see it. If you have doubts, then it's probably not the right car for you.

Hope this helps bro.

I don't think it's worth 20k unless it has quite a few additional mods and\or the overall conditional is really exceptional. Mac exhaust isn't really considered one of the best. Ask him about the clutch setup? Still on the stocker? Also does it come with a dyno sheet to show that it was tuned properly with the ported blower? Sounds more like an 18k car to me, but I'm not a SRA fan unless your building a drag car only. I believe even with it's quirks, IRS is part of what makes a Terminator interesting.

It drove fine. My girlfriend was riding in the back and she said when he would shift that she heard a grinding noise. Here's a link to the craigslist ad where there are a couple of different ones. From what I could see there was no exterior or interior wear. 2003 Mustang Cobra

The car was well taken care of, inside and out. I'm awaiting a full list of mods from him. I've never been a fan of Mac myself. If I buy the car I'll be swapping for stingers.

There are cars for sale on here with more mods or lower miles for near the same money. Plus alot of cars on here can be researched on the build. Good luck

for ME, SRA would be a deal breaker. part of what drew me to the 03/04 was the complete package... IRS included.

if you're buying this to head to the drag strip, SRA isn't a bad idea.

for what it's worth:

little bit of a drive but well worth it IMHO. check out the Redfire coupe...
