Hey guys, not sure if many of you know me or how many remember me but I'm trying to find a cheap but in good condition fox gt for my son amd I to start a project together long term.

Its a 1993 GT with a claimed 14, 000 miles for $4500 by a dealer in Raleigh Nc.

Vin number is : 1FACP42E9PF136522

Dealer gives only stock/sticker information. There is a chunk missing from the hood and looks like its been painted flat black. No mods are listed but the air intake looks to be a bbk.

Any one that could run a free car fax would ne a big help!

Or, would the dealer chalk one up for free?

Thanks!

Hey 5.0Snake,

Was able to get a Carfax for you from my dealer....this car has a history, and not a good one. I'm just going to put in the major ones here.

State of Georgia :

12/15/94 - Accident with extensive damage on right front, airbags deployed
01/01/95 - Salvage Title Issued
01/04/95 - Vehicle at automotive recycle facility
01/23/95 - Salvage Title Issued
12/27/10 - Vehicle Total Lossed (Car was bought 12/16/10 from what Carfax tells me)

During it's time in Georgia, it changed hands 10 times.

State of Texas :

12/27/10 - Salvage Title issued

State of North Carolina :

03/25/2013 - Salvage Title Issued

08/13/2013 - Vehicle sold at Auction (Last update from Carfax)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Total owners came out to 12 in total based on the title number alone that i counted.

If you need me to fax you over the Carfax I can do that, just let me know.

JP

Hey bud! Hope things are goin well, still got your cobra?

My son is only 4, but he LOVES mustangs!! "reads" the magazines I get all the time. Love to change the oil and do simple things on our DD's. I have been dying to get back into one and would love a little father son project for us. He keeps telling Me he wants to do burn outs while he sits in his car seat...:burnout:

Thanks for the car fax, thats fantastic. Really appreciate it!!

I have to weigh my options, the car seems like it has been pretty beat up. 14,000 miles, if its legit milage would be nice but then you got all the damage to the car and 12 owners.

Is 4500 worth the risk? I feel like if I could get a good deal on it, since I am going to be doing so much work to it that the low milage is very intriguing. As long as the frame was straight and no major mechanical flaws were found.

Let me know your thoughts, Im very hesitant about buying salvage because I have been burned. But, like I said, if I am going to be taking my good old time with it and be able to do what I want to it which is basically revamp the entire car, might not be a bad deal for 14,000 miles if I can get the price a little lower.

I doubt that car only has 14k on it, not with its history

I would think that car should be about 1/2 that price. If you check out the for sale section here you can find way nicer cars for 4500

Again I do not think that car could possibly have 14k, I wouldn't pay over. 2000

Look for a higher mile no rust car. If it's clean miles shouldn't matter if you want to restore it.

Oh HELL no! ... that car has been beat to shit, wrecked, salvaged, and likely wrecked again a time or two. and the dealer is trying to scam someone by advertising that as a 14k low mile car. what is more likely is that the odo has been swapped out or rolled back. Personally I wouldn't pay a thousand dollars of CSDs money for that hunk o'junk let alone my own.

take some more time and find yourself a better project car for the same money that doesn't have a salvage title.
